I love that, like even if we know exactly who "All Too Well" was written about or even "Style", the fact that those songs are still relatable to anyone that might have the similar experience is very amazing. Heck, it doesn't even have to be related to your own life, maybe the songs can apply to the characters in the book that you read or something.

idk, that seems quite insensitive towards mental illness. the person in this is me trying literally reaches the point of considering suicide, they DO feel guilty about how their mental illness affects their loved ones and they ARE trying to fix it. it's a big contrast from the person in renegade, who seems to guilt trip the narrator, or weaponize their illness to justify their shitty actions (LET all your damage damage me, carry your baggage up my street), while the one in TIMT does the exact opposite and isolates themselves from those they're hurting, until they feel better enough as a person to fix it (didn't know if you'd care if i came back/it's hard to be anywhere these days when all i want is you/but I'm here in your doorway/this is me trying). that's someone who cares about their loved ones but are afraid of hurting them, so they put up a distance. It might harm them too, because if you love someone you wanna be there for them, but it's not the same as consciously hurting them. Someone like that does NOT deserve a song like Renegade, it'd sound like the narrator is making their loved one's mental illness about themselves and prioritizing their relationship while this person is literally suicidal (get your shit together so i can love you??? suicidal thoughts and depression aren't easy to erase and it's not about YOU, they're not doing it on purpose to harm you), and saying if they had known how mentally ill this person was they wouldn't have chosen to be around them in the first place (if i would've known how many pieces you had crumbled into, i might've let them lay). That's a VERY harmful take to have about mental health, and I really doubt that's the message Taylor was going for. Renegade is clearly about someone who DOESN'T care about the way their mental health affects others, and that's not what timt portrays at all
