Good stuff Gary! Not seeing the shunt on here is sad. That consumption data would be very handy!

Thanks Keith, yes it's really nice to be able to look back at data, and I believe that if you switch controllers you can still access data from the prior controller for comparison. I'll be investigating that soon as I switch to the Renogy 100 amp controller for a full review and instructional video. Renogy has viewed the video and let me know they are working on a patch to include the BT 300 (Smart Shunt) in the Portal. Also, I am hoping that they allow them Portal to be able to set parameters of equipment. That would be a nice bonus! Thanks for checking in.

don't worry about the video quality it looks fine! Some people capture the computer screen using Screen Capture software, but your quality is really ok, really it is. Keep up the good work, keep focusing on the reviews and functionality (what works and doesnt work - extremely helpful), that's all people really care about. You've been the most help I've found anywhere yet, because your straight to the point!! BTW, I dont usually subscribe to anybody.. but I subscribed to your channel, for what it's worth. I have a the One Core, and two "Pro" 100aH BT batteries, which do show up in the One Core.... only thing I dont like so far is the slow-ish update rate of all components (One Core, DC Home App, they all seem the same).. 5-10 seconds is seems is all you get, BUT, the main thing is the internet connectivity.. I may just keep my Junktek (lol) Battery Monitor in the RV cabin since it is 2x per second and pretty accurate also, but definitely use Renogy app for everything else. Anyhow, you've helped a ton with my decisions, really appreciate it.

I got the Battery Shunt 300. Works great with the One Core and DC App. Went ahead, tried the online portal and the shunt still doesn't show up. Make no sense to why a company like Renogy doesn't have all their ducks in a row. They keep coming out with a bunch of new stuff that is not compatible with each other. I like the shunt, I have it sitting on my new Vatrar 460ah battery. It has it's own bluetooth, so I was able to sync the proper SOC with the shunt 300. I will cancel my subscription until they make the fix. I will wait for your update. Thanks for your content.

Yeah, it seems as though their engineers may be over worked a bit, and not able to keep up with demand. In saying that, I wouldn't know where to start with not only the circuit engineering, but the coding also when it comes to having all these implements communicate with each other using the Internet, 😂 I hope they figure it out, because they actually have a really good small system. Just a few bugs left to work out!

Victron shows way more data and its free.

@@anekinoo7 I think Victron makes some nice stuff, just more than I want to spend on my setup. The Renogy setup I have so far, solar controller, smart shunt, and wifi monitor all for under $400. I don't have a large setup, it's in my Motorhome that I use occasionally.

@@peterkueffner747 i have a small setup as well on my tear drop trailer. Having decent data is more important. I will keep the one core and solar controller but im returning the shunt. The lack of info available bugs me. The victron shunt provides way more info. Battery info and usage is important for me. The victron has the usage/charge graph on the phone. The renogy you need a $3/mo subscription and you need to use it on a computer for the portal. The subscription isnt worth it when other companies do it for free and available on the phone.

@@peterkueffner747 i have a small setup as well. Tear drop trailer. Theres next to no data compared to any company. I will keep the one core and solar controller but im returning the smart shunt. Battery info is the most important. U cant see anything like the graph unless u pay for a subscription and use a computer to see the data. The victron shunt cost less and shows all the info on the phone for free. Renogy charges $3/mo and needs a computer to see the info.
