My lawn is finally getting there. Had to remove 50 metres of hedges, then get rid of ie burn or dump !! Fence erected in its place & now it’s been seeded at 2 levels then top dressing!! 7 years this took me, at last I can have a beautiful lawn ☺️ thank you for your videos Danny 👌
@Dante-vf4sd
@Dante-vf4sd Год назад
Why did you get rid of hedges for fences?
@thedj5914
@thedj5914 Год назад
@@Dante-vf4sd simply because of the maintenance Dante. The hedge was over 2 metres wide, 6feet high and 50 metres long. Just to much work 🥴 I did have the hedges looking really good but just to much maintenance!!
@Dante-vf4sd
@Dante-vf4sd Год назад
@@thedj5914 I see, 50 m is a bit hefty, did you have those new non wooden(can't think what material they are🥴) fences put in?

@Dante-vf4sd
@Dante-vf4sd Год назад
@@thedj5914 I see, so you'll swap 2 or 3 trims a year(no easy task on a hedge 50 mtrs) for a stain every 3 years or so plus replacement costs etc and like you say a hedge can't be as thin as a fence so it's going to cover more lawn from sunlight, even if you reduced the height (which isn't always possible if your hedge is conifer for example).

Great video as always Dan! I have learned and am still learning so much from you so thank you for all the content. Quick couple of questions, what benefit does the fleece afford you? Secondly, mixture of seed are you putting down? Is matching what is already down necessary or can you change the seed type of the lawn with each overseed that you do?

Why are you seeding this lawn again? Does the rye grass keep dying off?
@DanielHibbertLawnExpert
@DanielHibbertLawnExpert Год назад
Just over seeding keeps it fresh and yeah lots of die back from worm cast damage, weed grass removal etc

For me a nice lawn is one with lots of clover and other flowers for bees and bumblebees and other insects. Otherwise it's a desert.

Theres thousands off bees i the borders on all the flowers, humans need grass to make oxygen so we can all live so think about that before you spout off

I’m guessing your using the rootzone top dressing because it’s sterilised and your suspecting that the field No4 Is contaminated with POA because I’ve noticed everyone who’s used it including myself has an issue with annual meadow grass and I never get that on my lawn until now
@DanielHibbertLawnExpert

No deffo not howards lawn in chorley is completely clean so im not buying into that theory as used 20 bags on there-as is steves lawn on the right where i have used it also , i use field compost in the video, i use the rootzone as knew i would have half a tonne over so used it on the rest of lawn and got three tonnes in all, ive never touch this lawn with field no 4 till now and the lawn is riddled with it anyway so wheres it come from? Its in the rain, its in the wind its in the birds its in the pavements its in parks, fields its just everywhere

Hi Daniel, it would be great to turn off the HDR feature as it is over processing the videos and lowering the quality. Just something to consider
