That's how I played them in every game except sims 4 ironically. Bella has 5 lovers, all Mortimer does is drink and write and no one pays attention to Cassandra and Alexander, who hate each other. I guess bc they didn't feel like "the real Goths" to me, I made their lives messed up 😅

I always imagined that it was a storage attic before Alexander and then he was a surprise and they were like "Let's renovate the attic for him!" So when I tried to renovate their house I took that into consideration and made it look more intentional.

In my game I thought Alexander could be really into space that's why he has a room in the tower! I also added a door onto the roof so he could star gaze.

actually, i don't think Alexander was treated badly. i mean, i would love to live in the attic. just a space all for yourself 😉 the fact that there was no door, however...

I always move the Goth House to the 50x50 lot (I even forgot which family lives there), that lot has that nice entrance and just has the space they deserve, the house can be huge and still have a big garden and I can fit the graveyard they had in the previous games, but this house turned out stunning! You used the space very well. I think both Bella and Mortimer are nice people, but their marriage is just... cold. No fights or anything, but no love. I gave each other their own bedroom too because I think the only thing they have in common is the gloomy aesthetic, maybe they both regret the things they never did. I think Bella had a thing with Don Lothario in the past, maybe because she was young and it seemed like an adventured and I imagine she was raised in a strict household, so she's not sure if it was really love or desire to escape. I made Cass and Alex twins too because the idea of goth twins was too cute but I don't have anything for their story lol

All the townie houses are (sorry to creators but i think it was intentional tho) HORRIBLE. So they ALL need to be renovated. SO EXCITED to see these videos by my favorite builder! 😻

Honestly I kinda like the fact (if it is true that is) that they intentionally made them kinda shitty. It gives players the chance to tap into their creativity and make something better

This is The Best Goth home rebuild hands down! I always play that Bella is super sweet and loves Mortimer but she kind of underestimates him if that makes sense. I also Always make Bella go on "vacation" to Strangerville because she's a secret agent.

I love the idea of alex's bedroom being in the attic bc it reminds me of cassandra's bedroom in the sims 1 🤧 but I looove this renovation! The color scheme is a lot better than the original

I totally see Bella and Mortimer in TS4 as a Morticia and Gomez Addams type relationship, and while I do totally think Mortimer and Bella do their fair share of flirting with other sims I don’t think they ever mean any of it, I could see them doing that to make each other jealous.

I've seen a few Goth house renos on RU-vid, but this is by far my favorite. I love the contrast of black and white on the exterior and all the details you added. It makes me want to play with the Goth family.

The Goth family is inspired by the Addams family, so I definitely imagine them as Gomez & Morticia Addams levels of obsessed with each other. 🥰

I LOVE this! I am planning on renovating premed lots in the game in an attempt to get better at building - I am definitely saving the Goth residence for a little later down the line, but this is so cool to see your interpretation. I love that it stayed true to their dark and quirky nature but really upgraded the entire space. As for the storyline, it's been confirmed that TS4 takes place in an alternate universe than the other Sims games. So in THIS timeline, I'd like to think that the Goth family stays true to their Addams Family inspiration. Mortimer and Bella are in love and treat each other with respect in my mind lol. I think Alexander was put in the attic maybe because he was a surprise? Impromptu nursery/bedroom? Maybe he chose to go up there himself because kids love to do weird shit like that- attic or basement bedrooms lol

Bella is the nicest sim in all worlds. Mortimer… nah, he’s a cheater for sure. Remember how quickly he invited gold-digger Dina Caliente in The Sims 2!? Think they both are really good parents tho. Maybe since Bella came back, Mortimer shaped up and stopped cheating! Hope so :)

How is he a cheater if Bella disappeared? I've known more people than I like to admit who immediately fall into rebound relationships. Dina is the one always seemed like the golddigger to me.

@@kristalynn221 Oh, i just get that feeling from him in Sims 2 :) but i don't know! I guess that is up to the player to decide. And yeah, i think both Dina & Nina is famous for being gold-diggers. Maybe they had something to do with Bellas abduction? ;)

omg the DINING ROOM wow that is SO GORGEOUS!! In general, i really love how you did this because it's so clearly the goth house - often renovations just go too far and you can't tell what it is at all, but this really does feel like a renovation, rather than a rebuild!!

I think Bella and Mortimer are super devoted to each other but also flawed as individuals- I think Mortimer is a little bit reserved and uncomfortable handling many situations - so that’s something Bella has always done for him, hiring cleaning services, handling the kids school stuff, organizing their social life, she tells him when & where to show up and he happily does it, happy he doesn’t have to think about it. So in the sims 2 after his wife disappeared, he was a little lost and a younger woman flirted with him and offered to take over his life and he just went with it, not because he didn’t love Bella but because he believed she was gone and just wanted someone to fill her role. I see Bella as being super competent, organized and take charge but maybe a little bit overbearing, she doesn’t mind handling things for her family (even when they might not want her too, like Cassie) but maybe she’s a little dismissive of and impatient with any other sims not in her family who “aren’t as competent”, which comes off as snobby. People dismiss her as a pretty socialite and she uses that and some flirting to do her job but she is very loyal to her marriage and family. This is a really cool Reno of this house!

This reno makes me wanna play the Goths so Cassie can grow up to be a professional violinist along the lines of Lindsey Stirling... But yeah! I'm so glad you did this... they really deserve all-packs available (even though I'm missing everything released this year lol I'm waiting for Black Friday.) I know they came in Base Game but soooo many families got wrecked because of those limitations. I also loved someone else's comment about faithful Bella being a Secret Agent who's trying to solve the mystery of Strangerville. I think I need to do a play-through with that option as well! Definitely a cute idea that's probably inspired by Sims 2. Also I think Alexander was tossed up in the attic because most people who played Sims 1 probably did that when he came along. I'm relatively certain he was a dev coded pregnancy or else Alexander was just one of the first options given if your family had a son. I swear, even before Sims 2, I'm almost certain I'd played the Goths in Sims 1, they came with Cassandra, but when I got Bella preggers from Morty, they had a son and I'm pretty sure that was the first name I got from the random name generator and it sounded good so I went with it, which is possibly why that's his name in Sims 2?? And because I was young and bad at building, and Sims 1 was less forgiving of mistakes, I added a third story or else there was already a third story and I just tossed Alexander up there. Otherwise, IDK. And I'm pretty certain the original house windows were brown because those are some of the windows updated recently. They definitely updated all of the mission style swatches.

Bella's been a great co-worker and a real sweet person. She did ask me to be the new crime boss though. That was unexpected 0_0. I just got the game this month because I love building. This was SUPER helpful showing me how roofs work. Tytyty. Can't wait to watch the rest of your builds!

I absolutely love this house. I always imagined mort has a cheater. Maybe Bella is very insecure but covers with up with her rudeness. Her body could be the result of trying to better herself after find out mort cheated. Maybe when she disappeared, that’s when she first figured out he was cheating but eventually came back for her children and tried to make it work. Now she gets payback by cheating with the butler or maybe some innocent flirting.

they remind me a lot of the addams, so in my mind bella and mortimer are very loving and the pda type (i don’t really see the wednesday - pugsley dynamic for cassandra and alexander tho)

This build is beautiful! It definitely still gives the Goth family vibe, but I imagine this is the reno Cassandra would do when she inherits the house since she has a girly refined sense of style. I always imagined Bella and Mortimer's relationship like Morticia and Gomez Addams in terms of their love life, but that they are very snobbish and expect too much from their children which is why Alexander is in the attic.

I think this is one of the best makeovers of the Goth house I’ve seen! It really just feels like the Goths and I absolutely love this! For me Bella is a little bit self centred which is primarily why Mortimer can’t have it sometimes and goes out to see other women. In my mind Alexander changed with his book „Murder in Pleasantville(?)“ the present (explains the alternate timeline and why Bella isn’t missing) but also he describes it so terrific that all the sims swear to never use violence again, which is why you can’t k!ll sims without mods or other than accidental… at least that’s my storyline… I also made Cassi and Alex a little bit older, because I wanted it to feel a little progressed to the other games in the franchise, more like I think in the sims 2, where Cassi and Don were just about to marry… so it’s continuing the storyline a bit

I also turned that bathroom into Alexander's room lol. I turned that tower room into like a kids clubhouse area and I put swings on the roof along with gardening boxes and I don't remember what else

only thing I'd do diff really with the home is maybe add red doors on teh outside, idk just think that would look neet in contrast to the whole black and white house, and ironically both versions of the house i'd happily move into, they look so grand ^^

Bella is wonderful! I think she loves Mortimer with all her heart, but sometimes wonders if she married too soon. I think she wanted to do some things when she was younger that she didn't want to compromise on. She just wonders what her life would be like if she postponed marriage.

I made Bella a vampire because I think she’s just an iconic character that I always want in my game lol. I don’t play her but I check on her from time to time, I’m pretty sure she’s currently on her 20th spouse… 😳 (I don’t know the exact number but she’s always married to someone new when I look and I’ve played a good couple generations of my current household 😂)

Ok, I love the Goth family to bits but never play them becausd I dislike their house, can't find a reno I like but still feels like their place, and dislike building. Those home though? Maybe Goth family time! For the record, this is one family I never once considered as creating their own drama. They are quirky but not in a way that causes family drama. I do, however, tend to think drama follows them. Alex 100% gets an alien babe and has to hide out, Cassandra has to cover it up while trying to live her happy life (with Johnny, preferably), which leads to trouble, and Bella has her own issues that leads her constantly pulled from her family through no fault of her own. Mortimer keeps the family together as much as he can, Cassandra largely picks up that mantle. The big question is how Johnny inteprets her actions and what he does about it...and especially his reaction what/if he figures out about Alien Baby.

Always thought that Don L was super sus as well as the caliente sisters. I think either Don hit on Bella and she rejected him, because she is faithful to mortimer, so he killed her due to the rejection orrr the caliente sisters thought Bella was moving in on Don and wanted her out of the way. I think Don has some sort of crush on Bella tho and after she disappeared he got with Cassie kind of using her as a replacement

I like to think that they *try* to be like Morticia and Gomez Addams, but just don't love each other in the right way. I mean, they love each other, but it's not the same. Mortimer absolutely cheats, and it's kinda implied that Bella cheated too (she vanished at Don Lothario's house). I think their relationship is more of loving the idea of each other and their image than anything else.

I imagine Bella and Mortimer being total opposites. Like Mortimer would prefer to spend his evenings quiet with a good book and juice on the rocks. Whereas I see Bella as a party animal. Life of the party and very outgoing. Idk if I see her as mean or rude but I definitely could see her being with Mortimer for the money. The age gap is the issue for me. Makes things seem dramatic, whether it is or not.
