35 days in and almost finished up - the floors came out great, as did the kitchen after some backsplash trial and error. Just needs a few more exterior finishes and interior details cleaned up and it should be complete! Also, these are some creative ways to save some money throughout the process - enjoy! 1. Shop around for major appliances and large purchase. I initially got a quote from Home Depot and then took it to Lowes to see if they would beat that price, and they did. $400 saved in less than an hour of work! Coming soon: Taking the Lowes quote back to home depot and seeing who goes down the most ;)
2. Shop around Google to find the lowest prices. I checked out Window Coverings from Amazon and Ikea, but after some quick searching, I found SelectBlinds had the lowest price for custom made blinds. Easy choice and they were awesome - check them out here: goo.gl/1wBZS7 - You can do this for just about any item you’re buying.
3. Do some of the minor work yourself. RU-vid everything and you can get your own supplies for a fraction of the cost someone else will charge you for. I changed my own outlets pretty easily, as well as installing a lock - things that take under 10-15 minutes to do. Easy!
