After seeing some of these scenes, I think I understand why this villa was abandoned…It may be the most complicated of the restoration projects on RU-vid right now, as it is not being rebuilt, it’s being fixed…Your optimism and stubbornness to do it right are admirable…

I'm thinking that using a balloon to block the known drainage tubes then using a coloured smoke bomb in the dug part... Put a lid on that and see where coloured smoke comes out of the floor and walls! And using a pruning saw on trees when electric chainsaws are so much fun seems like a missed opportunity😂 It's lovely trying to be clever without having to get dirty or doing any work! I really do admire all the hard work you're putting in. At the same time, I can't stop wondering why not use some tools to help you out? Like a jackhammer, a chainsaw, a small digging machine maybe? All of these come in small sizes, and would save you loads of time in the long run. Also, I'm confused on the sewage - using it for drainage makes perfect sense (I'd still replace it with new pipes though), but putting sewer waste into such a beautiful canal would be a sad view. All of the best!
I feel a blueprint of the house or a tour through the rooms explaining where they are and how connected would be very useful to help watch the videos. Also, perhaps go over your bigger plans. You've done that a bit, but very often it is very microcosm and we lose the big picture of what is happening. Hope that is helpful.
You might start looking for a mini backhoe. I think you are working out the fresh water drainage. There should be a separate system for grey and black water going to a septic storage.
You don't know why it was abandoned Starwonder54? It could be any reason, but surely not because it's most complicated to be fixed. And your right it's being fixed and not rebuilt, because it's a very well built and sturdy Villa structurally and it's worth fixing it up.
I do apologize and for sure I might of misunderstood you and maybe you could if interested clarify to what I wrote below, let me assure you that I was not trying to criticize you. My intend was to point out to you, how old the Villa was after I found out that it was build in the 1895, I was amazed for sure and Secondly the technology they were building than, was totaly different from the way we build today. I also would want to know who owned the Villa and commission to build it, he must of been very rich, don't you think so? I would put the building cost to the millions. To the question you pointed out, I now agree to what you wrote, I saw the way the pipes were laid around the walls and also how they were going through the walls from room to rooms and up and dows the floors, that was crazy, tu say the least. because of the way it was build and the difficult it would be to decide between rebuilding and or fixing it up, but I disagree with you believe, that the reason it was abondened was either the condition the Villa was build and as well the difficulties the owner had encountered with maintenence and repaires. This is a very difficulty question that only Sam must think about. In my opinion, rebuilding would be very expensive, but that's only my opinion as an spectator of this beautiful project. Too bad you can't flush the blockage with a firehose amount of water & force. I hate it that you had to dig the thing out. I too admire that you knew what had to be done & just did it. I 'd have sat in the path & cried. Q: You say "sewer" ~ are you saying the household bathroom waste flows into the river below? One of your earlier video's, when you were standing down in the river & showed the opening for which you searched...it looked like solid body waste was piled up at the opening. Say it isn't so! Please!

So the sewage and used water just dump into the river? I am very confused. There is no public water or sewer system along what appears to be a major road with an apartment located next to it?
That lightening rod is absolutely NOT safe, and why it runs out to the centre of the garden in a steel pipe is completely against modern regs…Please get it replaced by a registered installer…ps great villa and if you need a hand with metal work or carpentry, give me a shout, happy to help out - UK Based.

Could the roof contain lead? My great-grandparents’ house collected water which went to a reservoir in the basement, until municipal water was brought in. After that the old system was disconnected.
Is that a sewage or rain water pipe? So much for not emptying waste water into the environment. This is why the local utilities should be contacted to determine the current location. Cannot believe that this isn’t documented given the Italian penchant for bureaucracy.
