There is a school version but the all of the F bombs were taken out and no gay/lesbian kissing and Angel is a girl not a drag queen... so actually its not even Rent anymore
RENT - my absolute favourite - loved this version, saw the show twice in Melbourne, Australia. Can't speak more highly of the whole show. Have to say I bought the CD at the show and only really know this version. The live performance was sensational - couldn't actually bring myself to watch the movie version. La Vie Boheme!!! - absolute favourite - love love love it
Don't call them stupid. It was a perfectly good question. As a minor, this is one of my favorite musicals and I feel that although it has MATURE (not inappropriate) content, it has very good themes.
My school did RENT. Funny thing is, they did the school edition. However, we had a last performance and during that last performance, we did it for the school, we put everything BACK into La Vie Boheme and all the other parts too...
The local public high school in my area actually performed Rent this past year... It all just depends on the school and whether the authoritative figures think it's appropriate.
@@crybabymartinez9713 don't forget that they can edit the movie version. I still agree with you though. But for the limits on Broadway, I think it is comparing apples to oranges.
It's the Original Broadway Cast, muchhh longer and has more stuff in it. the movie version combines la vie boheme, i should tell you, and la vie boheme all in one.
I Feel Your Pain! I hear everyone listening to LMFAO and im thinking:"Jesus, dont these ppl dont know what good music is!?"i know most of the songs by heart and i could audition for Mark's part but im too young!
Hey, if you don't mind me asking, which version is this? I'm trying to find it elsewhere but yours seems to be the only video I could find it in! The others are from the movie but I assumed this one was [but it sounds different]
@figglesnorf9 We sing rent songs all the time in class XD Teachers get annoyed because two girls and i sing it all the time or atleast we did. Was awesome, we were in psych and the prof was talking about something, when A girl was like akita, and me and another girl shouted out avita, and went into the song XD good memories.
Why do all the best musicals have to be "too mature" for high school? Its not like most of us dont already know about all of this stuff!! RENT, SWEENEY TODD, AND REPO THE GENETIC OPERA, would all make great plays in high schools, as long as they could honor it correctly ;)
@figglesnorf9 There is a school version. It's cleaner. We did it for the summer musical a couple years ago, so maybe you could do it it your principal is open-minded.
ok so I was specifically looking for the og broadway version and this is what popped up... is this it? are you sure? Mimi doesn't sound like Renee at all!
@GoldDustedTears I think it's mostly because we SHOULDN'T know about this stuff, despite the fact that we do. The school should not be encouraging the use of mary j, y'know? lol
If you're in 7th grade why are you cursing? Please act your age and talk like a 7th grader should. It doesn't impress the older kids, it just makes them think you're obnoxious. Sincerely, a Junior in high school (16)
