Long Beach Freezes "Notice to Vacate for Substantial Renovations"
The Long Beach city council approved last week that landlords can no longer give notice to vacate for substantial renovations. In this video I give an overview of the new ordinance.

Please keep informing to tenants their rights, many of them are being intimidated by their landlord, one of them is Berro management in Long Beach.

Berro employees will literally scream at you over the phone and call you a liar. Followed by a threat, of course. For the smallest things

Most of the Landlords want them to live on the sidewalks, in tbe bus stops, in the parks, etc., they also want them to pan handle all dirty and stinky because they couldn't take a shower or take a bath anymore because they don't have enough money to pay the rent anymore because rent keep rising! What kind of leaders do we have in America? Isn't the government taking care of its people? All prices of food also go up. You can't find the beef because you ended up buying a hotdog!

I agree this has really impacted landlords that kept their rents low and have been good to their tenants. This now causes some landlords to bump rents who otherwise wouldnt.

Can only raise rent 3-10% depending on how long tenant has been there, etc.

The $4,500 tenant relocation allowance is required to be given to tenants by Long Beach landlords until when, please? And the 90 day eviction notice is required until when?

Question what if they kick out to renovate but then invite them back at market rate?

I have seen this take place in the market. I have not done it personally. IMO if a tenant is willing then yes I believe this is a viable option.

This is for Long Beach Ca? So I can legally give 90 day notice and get the tenant out without eviction starting in February 2022?

Does anyone have any advice. My landlord owns a house and I rent the back unit. He is selling his house which is apparently an escrow now. He gave me a written 60-day notice and now has cut that in half because the house will be sold before then. He's telling me I need to be out much sooner and will pay me one month's rent for the inconvenience. I hope someone sees this and can give me some direction. I feel like I'm being done wrong but don't know what to do.

Should pay rent, what do you mean by that so your landlord shoulder all the expenses then you just leave for free is that you mean there’s no law like that if you cannot afford to pay the rent then you have to move out just simple like that
