Did you know once you reach 1000 books, you're considered a library??? Cant choose which is my fave shelve i love how filled it is and the acrylic stands are a nice visual break from the rows of manga ❤❤😍😍
thank you thank youu! 🥰🥰 seriously, the process is like why am i here haha. but seeing everything put together and organized the way you want it...it really is satisfying! and it's nice to be able to easily pull a vol off the shelf as opposed to how i had it before 💀
The book cart is SOOO handy, I use mine all the time, also got it after noticing a bunch of other collectors using it for TBR/haul separation! Loved the reorganizing! 😁
agreed! i can see what ya'll got it haha. it is really nice to have somewhere else to put the tbr vols and new incoming vols 🤭 and also very helpful when shifting series/vols around~ but thank you for checking out the vid! 🥰
After getting some of my first manga a few days ago I now understand why you place them so you can see the front covers. The front covers look so good. I will definitely have to refer back to this video if I increase my collection for organization ideas.
ohhh excited for you and your growing collection! 🥳what were the first mangas you picked up? and yahh some covers need to be displayed, esp our favorites :) glad this can give you some ideas!
@@cadence_la I can certainly understand that. I don't know if I could handle having that much manga. I only have one shelf on the smaller side and I already feel overwhelmed lol.
@@omegashenron8 😆 understandable~ save yourself the hassle and your wallet tbh haha. i used to work at a library so being surrounded books and moving them around is nostalgic XD
@@cadence_la Well I have a ton of Anime DVD's/Blu ray's so... my wallet isn't really safe 😆 and it's part of the reason why I don't go all in on manga. Just don't have the space.
@@omegashenron8 ahh ok that’s def one of the things I know I won’t get into, which is getting blu rays 😅 (with the exception of my top top favorite animes…which if I could ever get my hands on the Violet ones…) fair enough tho bc blu rays are expensive so yah no one’s safe 😂😂
Yess the piles of manga that we don’t have a choice but to climb over 😳Thanks so much! 🥰 and hahah that’s so funny bc I’ve joked with my friends that I’d fly over to them just to clean their house bc I enjoy cleaning and organizing a lot 😂
ikr! omg it's been forever and a day just trying to get yona fully complete 😅 hopefully they fulfill our orders soon! idk why other retailers seem to have it but RSA is lagging a bit. could be any day now tho :)
Ahhh Cadence they turned out beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤ I honestly felt your pain when the manga was stacked all across the floor, when I did that I felt like I wanted to give up 😂😂😂 also still super love the way your organised it in themes! Like the passion shelf!
thank youu! 😍🥰 it's really satisfying to see it all come together! and omg seriously...just trying to find a specific vol or series i was like i could have sworn i put it down in this area and then proceeds to spend 5 mins trying to uncover it 💀 that shelf's theme is def one of my favs too 💖
noted! 👀unhauling will be good regardless to make room for other manga and continuing series XD and crossing fingers i can get the room together and presentable~ thanks so much for your support! 🥰🥰
I love your shelves! They look so beautiful!! I recently had to move my ~900 volume collection around because of some housework, and it was also a multi-day task, so I feel this. Thanks for showing us your reorganization 🙂
thanks so much for watching the vid! i'm glad you think so! 😭🥰 ooff wow 900 vols! isn't it such a huge undertaking? it's like next thing you know, you've spent the entire day just setting up and reorganizing 😳
that's so nice that you've studied architecture and it seems like it was actually something you enjoyed and still do! i really hope it stays that way in case im right. also i love your sweater from the first clips! you saying that you will focus on finishing your TBR this year kinda makes me want to start keeping up with mine as well ahha (and its a lot), i also gotta focus on collecting specifically manga that i own already, not buying new series, ITS SUCH A TEMPTATION!! the bookshelves really do feel tetris-inspired and decorations big or small or tie everything together and your shelves look really really good in the end! im happy that you are done with the organising (for now) buddy reads sound so fun tbh, i only ever read few series with 2 of my friends, but it would a full day binge on call. unfortunately, we dont talk anymore with either of them, but i still got these good memories oh, you got that one new volume of imaginary! how did you like it? (since you said you would unhaul the volumes, im now curious why heh) i dont really remember if you mentioned it in any of the previous videos, i might ve absolutely missed it qwq P.S. fav shelf would be the arts one
i'm still a huge appreciator of architecture and i love traveling to visit buildings i studied about XD but thanks so much! i filmed this throughout a handful of days so i was like what to wear today haha. omg i totally understand what you mean! i was actually at B&N yesterday and it took a lot of willpower for me to walk out with nothing in hand. i kept telling myself to not buy another vol of a series i haven't fully caught up on yet 😅 so i didn't buy anything and felt accomplished lol! that sounds so bad like a buying addiction >< ahh ok sounds like buddy reads was a good experience for you in the past :) if you ever feel like doing them again, feel free to reach out. no pressure though and just throwing it out there~ oh yah i did read vol 1 of Imaginary and it was a bit odd. i was expecting something completely different based on my impression of the summary--two childhood friends reconnecting. when it said "fantasize about wild things when they were children," i didn't think it would literally focus on that. it kinda jumped around between perspectives and would confuse me. i wasn't too keen on the direction so if anything, i'll check it out digitally to see if the romance aspect of it moves along. and the arts shelf def has a special place in my heart 🥰 thanks so much for your lovely comments! they're always so thoughtful 😊😍
@@cadence_la well i hope those trips to see architecture are always worth it! and ye, imaginary doesn’t really sound like a fun read for now, ill just try to check it out online as well, that cover really intrigued me, but as they say “dont judge book by its cover” literally ahahah
@@lars8596 the cover totally drew me in so I was kinda disappointed 🥲 but if you do check it out, let me know what you think. And hopefully my impression of it doesn’t affect what you end up thinking XD
hahah one of my friends gave me a box of manga they had from a long time ago and i'm like dang ok idk what to do with all these 😅💀 still haven't gone through them and organized ones i want to keep or sold/donated ones i didn't care to have in my collection 😨 the manga library is close to happening though based on my total count 😂
your collection is very impressive, I really like how your layout makes it easier to find specific titles by sorting them by genre. Therapy game is my favorite bl as well, do you by chance have any bl recs that I might like? I've tried to get into other more mature bl series and therapy game is the only one that I thoroughly enjoyed, I think it's because of how realistic and communicative their relationship is in comparison to other couples in adult bl. plus Hinohara-sensei's art is amazing. :)
thank youu! genre makes the most sense to me even though it can be a bit of a pain to organize and have them look nice together 😅 omg yess more therapy game love! seriously cannot wait for the next vol 😭 i totally agree! i think Minato is one of my most favorite characters bc of how conflicted he gets with himself and i think that is so relatable when being in a relationship and being a bit insecure. and him paired with Shizuma's temperament is so perfect. hmm bl recommendations. have you also checked out The Dragon's Betrothed by Hinohara-sensei? it's on hiatus but still a nice 2 vol read 🥰 other than that, a non-explicit ones i really love is I Hear the Sunspot. the first two vols are nice but the 3 vols that come after called Limit are my favorite. Nagisa Furuya's series are also nice and fluffy. for mature bl, i just caught up with Candy Color Paradox and the setting is really interesting to me and i like the couple! do you read manhwa? they have quite a bit of mature series that i would totally recommend like On or Off and Dangerous Convenience Store ☺
oo i have a recommendation for you! sasaki and miyano by harusono shou, its really good and definitely a comfort anime since theres barely any drama/angst at all, and two of the side characters have a spin off too!! its also a really healthy and cute bl which is rare lolol
@@vensangonomiya9485 totally agree with this rec! i binge read the 9 vols as soon as i started bc i couldn't stop. they're so cute together aaa 😆 it's such a sweet read. i haven't gotten into Hirano and Kagiura yet. have you? 👀
Oh my gosh, I wish I would've thought about getting a cart when I moved mine! So smart! I was so out of breath once I was done. Your shelves look awesome!!
hahah honestly, when i got it, i didn't even think of how handy it will be when carting manga around. i was just going to use it to store manga that i was reading or will be reading 😂 but thanks so much! 🥰 i'm def happy with how they turned out~
This was so satisfying and lovely to watch, I still live with my parents but when I move out soon, I’ll definitely be doing this. I love reading mangas so much, I’ve read every single manga in the library nearest to me… finding people that love manga as much or more than me just makes me very happy to see people share some of my interests.
thanks so much for watching! 🥰 crossing fingers for you that you get all the space that you need for all the manga you'd like 💖 ahh yess there's a whole manga community here online and it's been really nice to talk with so many people about series we like and discovering new ones that i haven't heard about. what manga from the library have you enjoyed the most?
@@No.1_RanpoSimpohhh i had done a read through of BSD and vanitas in the past few months and really enjoyed them! it's tough that they're still ongoing series bc there's so much plot and story to uncover 🤭 my recommendations will usually always include Yona of the Dawn, Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun, The Apothecary Diaries, Haikyu (if you're in the mood for a great sports manga). One that i'm planning on reading that i hear is pretty recommended by a lot of people is The Heroic Legend of Arslan
Thanks so much for the interest! 🥰 I will most likely do another full manga collection video of me just talking about everything on my shelves once I’ve reorganized (again 🤣😅)!
You decorated the bookcase so wonderfully that I would like to invite you to clean up my mess XD I have no idea where to set what, although I try and it doesn't look as great as yours. I live your manga shelves.
hahah i actually really like cleaning and organizing so any invitation to do that is something totally up my alley 🤣 but thanks so much aww! 🥰 you can always try a practical route first (grouping by size or publisher, etc). and honestly just positioning manga in all sorts of ways (horizontal, stacked front to back) until they fit nicely haha
I love watching manga reorganization videos. They’re just so interesting and it’s like getting new recommendations that just seem interesting. I try finding the digital versions on Bookwalker, VIZ, Manga Up instead of buying the physicals in case I don’t like the series and regret buying. I only like collecting series physically that I really like or the covers are just cool. I also like organizing my manga at certain times. lol (sorry about dumping all that lol) Can I ask where you got those clear risers?
that's totally understandable! i may actually end up doing something like that--getting digital for things i just want to casually read and if i really love a series, i'll buy it physically. although i'm kinda slowing down on collecting anyways since i feel like my collection is in a good spot :) prob just keep up with my favorite ongoing series. what are your favorites so far? the clear risers are in my description 😊 i get them from amazon! amzn.to/3x45YW1
haha an honor to be in the ASMR category XD and ofc, can't go wrong with talking endlessly about manga 🥰 thank you for watching my videos! really means a lot~
ohmygod the final outcome of the shelves look so gorgeous !! also u have very good taste in manga, i unexpectedly recognized every BL in ur faves shelf LOL and the shoujosei ones as well, was pleasantly surprised to see the good day to be a dog manhwa in there ^_^
ahh thank youu! 🥰 my shelves have updated quite a bit since this video and i'm in the middle of working on an updated collection showcase 😆hopefully soon i'll get around to finishing it! but ohh which series are your favs for BL/shoujosei? omg yess! a good day to be a dog! 💕i really hope ize press picks it up for an english print. i really adore that series and would love to reread it since i read it on the webtoon app so long ago now.
@@cadence_la i tend to like stories with rlly fluffy couples for BLs so i'd say my favs are cherry magic, kieta hatsukoi, koimonogatari (if it counts) and hanakoi tsurane! also a bunch of manhwas like heesu in class 2, who can define popularity, & you get me going :) as for shoujosei manga, i've only recently started getting into more modern series since i went through a gap period so my taste is quite outdated LOL but some of my old favs have been oresama teacher, daytime shooting star, snow white with the red hair, yona of the dawn, dengeki daisy, arisa, ouran and chihayafuru! since they published see you in my 19th life in english hopefully they'll end up bringing over a good day to be a dog too 🙏 looking forward to seeing your updated collection ^^
@@nagitrash ohhh cherry magic is quite a feel-good series :) i haven't started reading my love mix-up yet but i def plan on it since i have all the vols. i've only heard good things about it 🥰 for koimonogatari (i'm assuming you're referring to love stories)...i wonder if that'll ever continue 🥲 but those are all great shojo series! yona of the dawn! ahh the best series. also btw...i see your username. albedo enthusiast? hehe 🥰
I'm waiting for Vol 2 and 7 of Yona. I finally got Volumes 14,16 and 18 of Banana Fish 🍌 🐟 waited so long for a reprint 😫 I was scared the serires would never be complete in my collection . I love how you planned out where everything goes on your shelves I'm always reorganizing after each hual 😎🤣
yah idk what's going on with some Yona vols that still haven't gotten restocked 😭 at least some retailers haven't restocked them yet :') but ikr! having a gap in the collection feels so incomplete. hopefully we get the vols we're missing! 🙏 ohh yahh i need to reorganize bc i mix ongoing series with completed ones and i'm like errrr need to move everything around ☠ how do you normally organize? by theme? vol size?
yayy! good luck on your reorganization! 🥰 hopefully everything fits and turns out exactly how you want them 📚 i still need to keep working on my collection video LOLL. it's been 3 months and sigh 😅
You learn something new everyday?! I recently bought Summertime Rendering the first volume in English. I did not know there was at least 6 volumes in English. Imma have to go get them because this series is so good.
ohh excited for you to continue it! it's a pretty gripping read imo and the premise is really interesting ☺ the pace of the story kept me reading bc i wanted to know what happened next and how things got resolved. have you seen the anime?
@@rachelrose1830 i haven't finished watching the anime yet, but i hear it's more helpful on understandability 😅 when i was reading it, the latter half started to get quite confusing and i couldn't follow (and pretended that i did sometime lol!). but supposedly the anime portrays things clearer 👀
HOLY this is like sugar for my brain... I see Dengeki Daisy, I subscribe and I leave a like. Actually, the more I look the more I love your collection lol. Takane to Hana, Seasame Salt and Pudding, I hear the Sunspot, Skip to Loafer... Someday I'll get there. just started a new job to enable me and my modest collection. Have you ever checked out Go WIth the Clouds, North by Northwest? The volumes have this wonderful texture, and the art and mystery is fantastic.
hahah i'm so glad you got a dose of sugar from all this XD ahh Dengeki Daisy! the series that i've been waiting for a couple vols to reprint for like 2 years now 😭 i really hope Viz/Shojo Beat does a reprint so that i can complete my collection of it and do a reread since i never finished it 😢 but ohh congrats on starting a new job! i hope you're able to enjoy your earnings and gradually build up your own collection 💕 all those series you pointed out are such good ones! especially Sesame Salt and Pudding and Skip and Loafer 💖 i really adore Skip and Loafer. speaking of Go With the Clouds, i haven't checked it out yet! i did hear about the mystery aspect of it and i've been curious. i'll have to add it to my list to check out someday! what are your top fav series so far tho?
BSD is so so good! i'm almost caught up on the physical manga release (still need to read vol 23) and have read Dead Apple. i also still need to read Beast, Another Story, and the Dazai Chuuya Age 15. but i'm currently on season 3 of the anime 🥳 who's your favorite character and/or arc?
Your manga collection is absolutely amazing. You're video was also super engaging, the way you showed everythimg was beautiful. Keep making more videos regarding anime and manga
aww thanks so much! 😭😭 i appreciate you watching it through and that you enjoyed it 🥰 hopefully i can do an updated collection tour or something in the future. but def will be continuing with these anime/manga vids 😊
Yess the prepainted Violet figure 🥰 I think I got it early last year? I had to have at least one of her. I wish for a licensed figure of her everyday and hope KyoAni will allow for one in the future 😭

@@cadence_la nooooo! i enjoy hearing you talk :) and i have a few favorites but i think it’s a tie between blue flag and shortcake cake! what’s your favorite?
@@cassieott3923 ohhh i absolutely loved blue flag! i'm glad you really like it too 🥰 i would have liked more of the ending but overall i really enjoyed it. there's so many i like 😅 horimiya, living room matsunaga-san, and i hear the sunspot are some of my top top favorites 🥰
I was really suprised to see so many mangas I know or have✨ Because most I own are so underrated. If I talk to people about manga it's mostly "oh so you like manga? Do you have Demon Slayer?" (just an example). So I am always excited when I see someone else, who owns a manga I love with my whole heart💕
aww yess! that's so cool to hear that our collections are aligned 🥰😍 it's def nice to have a diverse range of manga genres and demographics to read from~ which are your absolute favs from your collection? 💖
@@cadence_la Right now I think my favs are, 1. Toilet bound hanako-kun, 2. Sasaki and Miyano, 3. My Love Mix-Up! and 4. In the name of the mermaid princess (I just adore BL/Romance and Fantasy mangas)
@@Maydareprince omg yesss! i just caught up to the latest released vol for TBHK and can't wait for vol 17's release 😭 i adore the series a lot and love every character. the mysteries are so interesting too. when i finally decided to pick up SasaMiya, i ended up binging it haha. they're way too cute. i haven't checked out Hirano and Kagiura yet. have you? i've yet to start MLMU but thinking if i should just wait for all the vols to release and then binge it XD have you been keeping up with it vol by vol?
@@cadence_la I haven't checked out Hirano and Kagiura yet either, but they seem really cute. I don't know how they are releasing in English but for my language I've been keeping up with MLMU ( only 3 vol. rn, but I read them all and I felt really sad after the third one, because that meant I have to wait till April, for the 4. to release here). Btw because of you I finally read 5cm per second but here it's split in two so I only know half the story, also thinking about picking up a copy of "your name"
@@Maydareprince ohh ok i see. MLMU for English only has 3 vols left to release so maybe by the end of the year it'll be fully out. but ooff yahh it is rough to have to wait months for the next vol. often times i forget what even happened so i end up needing to reread 😅 5cm per Second is a decent read imo. it has a different vibe to storytelling and drama. i've only watched the Your Name movie! lmk what you think if you do pick it up~
I love the final set up!! The Perfect World/LRMS/Horimiya shelf is my favorite 😍 You're going to have to dig out A Silent Voice in February hehe 😂 I forgot you had those Free! cupcake figures 😭 They're SO adorable!! I'm still avoiding acrylic standees, but I might need to find some kind of figures for them because I love that series so much! I love how I have less than half the number of volumes that you have and I've been thinking I don't have enough space on my two bookcases 😂 Excited to see how you're going to adjust things to add that third half shelf!
thanks so much! 🥰🥰 yess i was like KK will appreciate having Perfect World up here :) although i also thought i didn't do Wotakoi justice 🥲 hahah yah you're right...good that Silent Voice is only the 2 hardcovers and we're gonna binge through em so getting them out won't be too much of a hassle 😅 i know you're a much bigger Free! fan than i am so i feel like you def could use all the merch XD i've seen a variety of mini figure sets and honestly you can't go wrong with any of them. they're all so cute! unless, you know...you want their scale figures 😆 i wish i could do dedicated full shelves for 1 or 2 series like you have. that's the ideal 😍 it'll take me some serious willpower to not just fill em up though lol
@@cadence_la Maybe Wotakoi will get a more prominent spot some time when you're in the mood to reread it and fall in love with it all over again 🥰 Going to have to start looking for some Free! figures.. I like all my stuff to match, so it would bother me to have figures that are much bigger or much smaller than nendoroids (the ones on other shelves) so if I could find some similar sized ones that are cute.. 👀 I wish they'd get nendos, I feel like it's a really popular series in Japan, so I'm surprised they dont have them.. BUT then I'd buy ALL of them 😂💸
@@KKchanisaGirl I started watching the Wotakoi anime some time ago but never finished. Maybe then I’ll get the urge to reread 😆 But ahh I see what you mean. Until then, your wallet is safe 😌😂
Yup I can 100% agree 💀 I "only" have 170 (+) volumes and it's a pain to dust bcs I have to take everything down, dust the shelfs and but everything back and it takes me like 2 hours for this, I always feel like I did a complete workout at the and 😭

I love your collections! It’s so many, the dedication! It makes me wonder, how long have you been collecting manga? And how old were you when you started? I have a small collection. Started a year ago, some novels and mangas. 19 volumes in total. I want a library like yours someday😍❤️
aww thanks so much! 🥰 i didn't start seriously collecting until 2020 but i had my first shelf of manga i think back in 2004 haha 🤭 i took a SUPER LONG break of not reading any manga though somewhere in between that timeframe bc i was busy with school and interested in other things. a small collection is still great! pick the ones you really love and see yourself rereading 😍 i need to do better about being selective bc i have some manga on my shelves that i think were decent reads but i didn't love them. but your collection with get there! 💖
This is the first video I’ve seen of yours, I was floored at the first clip because I thought that was how you kept your manga normally, so glad it was not hahaha
aww thanks so much! 🥰 it's a marathon, not a sprint haha! i'm sure your collection will grow along with you 😆 what genres do you like collecting so far?
Order first read later. . I counted my volumes recently and I'm around 1040 now...I already knew I had a lot but actually counting it to realize made it hit harder LOL. Idea is to slow down this year, read some more and sort the stuff I want to keep. I'm definitely better at knowing what I want though compared to before. So it's hard to let go. I try to put my finished series in the back and ongoing up front so it's less of a hassle to move stuff. I was soo mad when they announced the toilet bound box set LOL I had legit just finished getting all the volumes. I want it so bad...but I don't know if I will commit haha. It was 60 on amazon not too long ago and I'm upset that I missed that. Hoping for another sale/misprice. I really do like it when people set up merch with their collections. Personally I don't do it because my cats will go to town, and I'd rather put more manga on my limited space xD. It looks nice! Cant wait for more collection updates
over 1000 😳 honestly, i'm not far behind haha. but that's my goal too! i think i've been reading a lot more already this whole month compared to previous months. just gotta keep it going~ and then cancel some preorders and sell/donate vols i don't care to keep 😓 2023 is the year! omg the tbhk box set. i was so surprised when it got announced. i didn't see it coming 😭 but i actually just ordered it on RSA with a 10% coupon from a couple months ago that still worked lol. the cost of the box set came out to 68! which i think is pretty comparable. would have been nice to get it at the amazon price tho :') i actually put less merch out than i did before bc i found that i was less likely to pick up a vol behind tons of merch lmao. it was such a hassle to move it and put it back 😒
The only reason I could have to buy the tbhk box set (even though I already own all of it) would be if it came with a special item like the box set of a silent voice… but the description doesn’t say it comes with anything special so I’m not sure! >.
i was so surprised that it was announced to get a boxset. in my head i was like noooo i also own all the singles and up to date on it 😭 but glad for everyone else who can just pick up the first 10 in one purchase with a cool box 🥲 but you're right. i wonder if there really won't be any...but since they didn't mention it, i assume not 😥 although solo leveling got a box set and the Barnes & Noble edition comes with a poster. just thinking if Yen Press is likely to include extras...we'll see!
@@oliverr8908 it's really nice when you have a book in hand. i find it's a more pleasant experience. but then again...i still read digitally too XD but good thing for digital is that it's not that expensive to get access to a lot of manga!
thanks so much for watchingg! 🥰 ohh hm. it depends on what types of genre you enjoy reading bc there's really a manga for everything 😆 for action/adventure/fantasy/romance, i'd def recommend Yona of the Dawn! if you enjoy a sweet romance, i'd say you can check out A Sign of Affection. if you want a serious drama romance, there's Something's Wrong With Us. for a wholesome action comedy, there's Spy x Family. for a great slice of life with really awesome characters, Skip & Loafer. for supernatural/mystery, i'd recommend Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun. gosh there's so many more hahah. but hope this helps! let me know if you end up checking out any of these and what you think 😊
I collect Jujutsu Kaisen and Kaguya sama, those are my favourites. I have 0-19 and 2 novels by Jkk and volumes 1-6 of Kaguya sama but I am missing vol. 2. I love your collection, but I noticed when I lay my manga down it starts to ger wavy, if that makes sense, so i put them upright only :)
Ohhh JJK is great! 🥰 although I am tempted to stick with anime for it. Haven’t started watching season 2 yet though 🫣 And thanks so much! 🥰🥰 ohh you notice them getting wavy? Ohh noo 😰 hmm I’ll need to keep an eye out for the ones I have stacked horizontally. Thanks for letting me know!
Another amazing video from Cadence. But I have a question. Which romance manga would recommend for a person who doesn't like romance? And will you ever collect demon slayer?
thank youu! 🥰 hmm maybe check out Kaguya-sama Love is War or Love of Kill 👀 they have an underlying romance aspect to it but there's more to it than that. although i can't totally say for kaguya-sama since i haven't fully read it yet, but Love of Kill would be a great read if you want to check it out :) and i don't think i'll collect demon slayer 😅 i watched the anime and movie and the series is pretty average to me. it's not bad but not something i feel compelled to collect 😌
I just got a new shelf for my manga,my room’s ceiling comes to a point so my walls are a bit shorter so I have to get smaller shelves. I love going to Barnes’n’Noble I go at least once a week, I’m trying to get all of Tokyo Ghoul I have three of the Barnes’n’Noble Monster Editions but the other two or hard to find,I’m thinking about getting a new shelf to put them on top of because the monster editions won’t fit on the shelves and then getting the box set of Tokyo Ghoul:re.
awesome! isn't it always such a great feeling to have a nice place to put your manga away 😆 ohh are those Monster editions a hardcover or a larger format compared to the regular prints? yah idk how to display boxsets tbh haha. that's still something i'm trying to think about 👀
@@cadence_la the monster editions are just a larger format, they are a 3 in one except the last one which is a two in one and pages are smoother and there are five of them all together, the first one is out of print and going for a little over $100 on eBay but I’m still thinking about getting it.
I either buy them secondhand if they’re old issues that I missed (via Mercari or eBay) or I preorder them through Amazon JP (by ordering directly or through a proxy service). Kinokuniya also offers a magazine subscription service or sell select ones in-store. Hope that helps 😊
it really does help bc space is so limited for me that i can't have a ton of bookshelves lining a wall (as much as i want to! 🥲) if i single stack. and i also personally don't like when i double stack and the front row sticks out beyond the shelf itself which i believe is the case for Billies when you double stack the larger format manga...
@@myne5689 i use the Hemnes shelves from Ikea and Carson shelves (48" tall) from Target and both of those work really nicely together in terms of matching depth and style :)
Hi! This is my first time watching your video and your collection is really cool! I was wondering where you buy your Japanese volumes and also do you have any shojo recommendations? I’ve recently gotten into shojo manga and wanted some manga to read! Anyways i hope you have a great day!
hi hi! welcome in! 🥰 thanks so much for watching! i buy my Japanese manga either from Kinokuniya or Amazon JP or i'll proxy them through Animate depending if it's a special edition that comes with a merch item 😊 ohh shojo recs! these are my personal favs: so if you want to read something not as recent (2000's) and fantasy/drama/romance, i'd suggest Alice 19th! my other top fav shojo is Living Room Matsunaga-san. fair warning tho that this has an age-gap between the characters, so if you're not comfortable with that, then probably skip this rec. Ao Haru Ride is also a nice read :) series by Mika Yamamori are great too like In the Clear Moonlit Dusk. she has a couple others i really like but again, those have age-gaps so just be mindful. if you want more drama, then Orange is a great one. hope you enjoy! let me know which you decide if you end up checking one out 🥰
hi hi! Sesame Salt and Pudding is such a good series and such a cute print 🥰 i'm not sure if Kinokuniya is accessible to you, but if you're able to shop from there, you can search the Kanji name of Sesame Salt and Pudding (ゴマ塩とぷりん) on the Kino website and the 3 vols are in stock! hope you're able to pick them up 😊
Animate released special edition covers for the first 6 vols of Given a couple years ago i think 🥰 they fit the Japanese manga vols and i don't believe they'd fit the English copies 🥲
Meanwhile I only have a volume 10 of Yona of the dawn that I bought secondhand a few years ago. I already know I love that manga (I read it digitally) but still deciding on if I want to commit to purchasing it. (Hopefully by finding the majority of the volumes secondhand somewhere)
collecting at your own pace is honestly the best way to go 😊 it is quite a lot to commit to buying and then also having the space for it since there's so many vols now 😳
hi!! love the collection so much. i couldn't help but wonder tho, is there anywhere you would advise checking for the bsd manga? i've gone to local libraries, reddit, ebay, and some other sites and i can't seem to find much.
hiya! thanks so much! 🥰🥰 hmm you're looking to buy the BSD manga? i'm not sure if you're in the US but i only know retailers here in the states and majority of the vols are in stock 👀
@@vereschweizer6397 so i mostly purchase from Right Stuf and Barnes and Noble. they do ship internationally (to select locations) but i think the shipping will be very expensive 😰 i think you might be better off shopping through Amazon or your local book retailers
ohh i have read the first 2 vols 🥰😍 i do really like it! Nagisa Furuya is a great mangaka that's done some cute and fluffy bl. i'm excited for the 3rd vol that should be releasing later this year 😆
i'm sure it will grow! there's so much manga out there that even i have yet to discover so i'll bet that your collection will eventually expand too 😆 what's your fav manga series so far?
@@okamiseele8614 wait. i'm going to assume this is the same okami from IG haha. the moriarty is my confirmation LOL. unless there's now 2 okami's out there that love moriarty (and TBHK) 🥰
@@okamiseele8614 more love for moriarty and TBHK! 🥰 i actually recently read up to vol 6 for moriarty (i know there's a buuunch more vols to go) and it's pretty intriguing! love a good mystery. and TBHK is prob one of my top favs. are you caught up on this one?
not yet! well, it's available digitally on the Mangamo app but in terms of the physical release, the release dates got pushed back a bit and the first vol is scheduled for release on May 14! :)
I noticed you have phantom tales of the night by matsuri! Is it something worth reading? I have a very tight budget so I have to be picky with what I purchase 😢
i've only read the first vol so far so i can't say i totally recommend it yet! 🤔 but if you're looking for a supernatural mystery type of story, i'd totally recommend Toilet-bound Hanako-kun for sure (if you don't already collect it)! i recommend it much more than i would for Phantom Tales. and they're both by Yen Press so the cost for both almost the same except that TBHK is a bit cheaper ☺ hope that helps! let me know what you end up picking up~
if i'm buying them new, i get magazines through Amazon Japan or CD Japan. if it's an older issue that i want and can only get secondhand, i'll get through Mercari Japan or Surugaya 😊 Kinokuniya also has a magazine subscription option (not sure if you might be near a physical store and if they sell them in-store as well. but that's also an option!) is there a specific magazine you're eyeing?
i think if you dust every other week (although depends what your situation is like--ie. pets, fans blowing, etc), it should be ok! ✌sunlight will affect your manga more tbh and will eventually cause the covers/spines to fade. and after long enough, the pages will start to yellow. i personally don't want to close up my bookshelf bc i want to see my collection. but if your top priority is keeping it pristine forever, then closing it off with solid doors would be good (not ones with glass panels) 😊
@cadence Thank you for answering! This helped a lot 🙇♂️ Side note: your collection is so cool! I haven't heard some of them and will be checking them out, and the way you organized the manga looks great!! 👏🏻
I am a avid follower in the Toilet Bound Hanako-Kun manga! I saw that boxset online when it was first listed and I was so tempted but I ended up deciding not too since I have this really weird thing of getting emotionaly attached to my things so ;-;
TBHK is really great 🥰 ohhh i'm sure you would have enjoyed having the physical manga vols but whatever works for you! have you checked out the art books?
@@cadence_la No I have not yet! I havent seen them whenever I go to barnes and noble, I am thinking of buying them and having them delivered. What do you think of the art books?
@@IMadOnline_ the art books are great! as you already know, the art for TBHK is really distinct and amazing so i don't think you'll be disappointed if you pick it up 🥰 it has full page illustrations and drawings of the extras that they normally include with the Japanese manga 😊
...unfortunately, i haven't started reading it yet either haha. but from what i do kinda know, it's about this group of friends--one guy likes this girl but somehow one of their guy friends ends up thinking he like him instead. super basic explanation but i think that's the general premise 😅 a synopsis online will prob do a way better job of explaining the series XD
hiya! welcome in! thanks for checking out my video 🥰 i actually got the Violet figure secondhand but it's from the E2046 website (the Gathering pre-painted line of figures) ✌
i buy the Japanese manga magazines either secondhand through Mercari JP (through zenmarket or buyee proxy service) or Amazon JP ☺ i would get them through CD Japan but most times i don't have a lot to order so that the shipping cost would be worth it. for Japanese manga, i'll buy through Kinokuniya or proxy the vol depending on which retailer is selling a special edition copy with preorder bonuses that i want ✌
thanks for recommending "sesame salt and pudding"! it's been a while since i read such a cute and healthy romance with an age gap hehe. also love your collection, we have very similar taste 😌
@@cadence_la yes! usually a super bubbly fl paired with a much older ml gives off a weird dynamic to me but they were so wholesome 😭hope it gets licensed someday!! ahh my top fave romance series would be koudaike no hitobito, kawaii hito (saito ken) and furare girl! and all of them are unlicensed lmao 🥲 have you heard/read any of them yet? 👀
@@kageyukiaru i haven't head of any of the first 2! 👀 i just added them to my TBR :) and only i've heard of the title for Furare Girl but never read. The first two thought sound really interesting since they have an older cast of characters. i'll have to check those out first hehe. thanks for sharing! have you tried requesting these series on the Viz website? they have a form where they take suggestions 🙃
@@cadence_la i'm happy they interest you! all of them are completed too (sighs). oh i had no idea they had that!! it took me a while to find it lol but i requested 😬👍 thanks for telling me!
I WANT TO DO THIS SO BAD BUT I NEED SOME HELP HERE. I’m 12 years old and my parents are strongly religious and stuff so they like to watch what I read and watch . I need some recommendations as to series I can read right now I’m reading Bungo stray dogs (they don’t know about the gayness) Snow White with the red hair Jjk One piece And love in focus. I just need some recommendations on anime with no or mild sexual content and not the most extreme violence
hi hi! i would recommend Yona of the Dawn 🥰 it's in my top 5 favorite manga and is a very good action, adventure, fantasy, romance series! it doesn't have a ton of romance since that's not necessarily the main focus of the story. Skip and Loafer is also a very good series for all ages. it's a slice of life with a little bit of romance but not a lot so far in the manga. the main character is one of my favorites and the friend group is a lot of fun. are there specific genres you really enjoy? :)
Hi! This is my first time watching your video. And your manga collection is so nice. What's your most favorite BL manga as I am planning to buy one again? Hoping for your response.
hi hi! welcome in! 🥰 thanks so much for checking it out :) hmm it depends what level of rating is most appropriate for you. are you looking for like a teen rating? something wholesome and sweet? something a bit more mature?
It looks amazing, I can't to be able to do this with my own space one day, also a manga I wanted to know if you read, it's called "xxxHolic" it has 3 versions to it but it is one of my favorite mangas and animes, I don't have the physical copies of the manga as yet but I wanna buy them soon I really would like to know your opinion on them!!
thank you thank youu! 💖 and yess i'm sure you'll be able to create your own space that works for you 😊 ahh i haven't read xxxHolic but i do know about it from way back in the day! the only CLAMP that i've either read or watched were CCS, Tsubasa Chronicles, and parts of Chobits and Magic Knight Rayearth :) but ooo it's your fav? feel free to let me know more since i honestly don't remember much about it XD
@@cadence_la thnx for the info, my friend will definitely be happy now. Another thing, where to buy manga for better price, cuz I get them from Amazon only.
@@sayanbhadra2371 ahh hm i'm within the US and mostly familiar with those retailers. are you shopping internationally? bc it'll depend on who i'd recommend looking into~
@@cadence_la oh I see, then I guess I can't use your ways😅 I'm from India you see, and manga is not as popular as the mainstream fiction books, although the growth is rapid and manga is more available, the price still is high. At retail store, they charge the MRP, but online shopping website like Amazon is rather cheaper.
@@sayanbhadra2371 ahh ok i see 🥲 hopefully the more popular it gets, the better the pricing becomes! i think Amazon is a good option since they're pretty easy with returns in case a vol arrives to you damaged. sometimes i've seen some manga on Amazon get a really reduced cost but for a short time 👀
Ahh ok I’m planning on eventually doing a collection room tour (idk when though bc my room setup isn’t fully there yet haha) but hopefully you look forward to it! My stuff is fairly neutral I think 👀
hmm that's hard haha. i have several so i'll share my favorites within particular genres. so my favorite romance shonen is Horimiya, favorite supernatural/adventure is Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun (which i'm super excited for the anime "restart" next month!), and then overall favorite shonen but specifically for sports is Haikyu!! 🥰 what is yours? or your top favorites?
@@killxrkitty ahh ok i'm only going to be watching the anime for chainsaw man and JJK i think. i read some of the JJK manga but the anime is great so i'll stick with that 🥰 i've yet to watch AoT tho 😅
i wish i could get more shelves but i think i'm maxed out on how much space i want to dedicate for shelving 🥲so i'm just working with what i have and will just start to curate my collection down to what i absolutely want to keep forever XD but for me, i honestly don't mind double stacking 😅 it would be nice to have everything on display but it is what it is 😭
POV: Rich people but your rich and spent your money on kpop albums and make fun of people who waste their money on manga and your crying yourself to sleep
😭😭 i would not be able to survive if i also bought a bunch of variants for kpop albums. i can only do so much collecting without being buried under so much stuff and debt lol! spending money on manga isn't a waste though, that's for sure 🥰 i just make sure i have the funds 😌
