What a HUGE difference the lack of an audience makes. I'm almost positive that if there were one, this conversation wouldn't have been nearly as productive. PLEASE keep this format!!!

He runs a comedy show based around left wing biased news. Look for serious debate in non mainstream media left wing news. Despite that he's making fair points and calling out left cancel culture stuff, his show is made for 16-30yos to laugh at the GOP in the same way that Tucker Carlson controls the narrative when dunking in the most extreme libs. It's entertainment on both sides. Fox is mainstream in the same way that a show on comedy central is mainstream. They both have a demographic that they're tailoring ads sales too. Cenk on TYT regularly grills both sides of the aisle. Watch both sides of the convo and remove the cultural lense from your eye and actually digest the info and I think we'll be alright. Great interview on both sides and I think it's because they both removed the lense for 20 minutes

@Michael Green I hate that I have to agree. He seemed unbelievably sensical and mild mannered when he first came to congress, his response to Pete Davidson was one of the classiest things I’ve ever seen (although in hindsight I do hope he wasn’t just overblowing the whole thing for political purposes). But since the political mess that was 2020 he just seemed like he devolved more and more into the swamp of “hurr the other side is maliciously destroying the country” that consumes modern politics, especially when he was talking to his base. You can’t be a class act in front of your opponents and then turn around and drag them through the mud to score political points when they don’t have a chance to respond (although tbh Trevor Noah can be guilty of this too), and while tbh I think Rep. Crenshaw would truly prefer to be a part of a better way of doing politics, he’s too concerned with his political future to reject his party’s worse impulses, which only pushes America closer to the brink, regardless of how nice he is in conversations like this.

I appreciate this response and comment. But please consider that that actions speak louder than words. Please check Crenshaw's voting record in congress. You might find his words hold less weight. Also, "have conversations about..." has very little value in real world social outcomes.

@@migooknamja Nobody got "destroyed" in this, which is precisely how a civilized discussion should go. What's valuable about this is seeing how each of them handle points they didn't expect or that appeared to refute their arguments. Given Trevor's ethnicity, it's possible he feels strongly about issues like CRT. Yet watching them both handle the differences in opinion and at least appear to come to a pseudo-consensus about parts of it is refreshing. I would like to see what Crenshaw has read that has influenced his negative opinion of CRT or if he's simply siding with his party (probably some of both).

I appreciate how Trevor is evolving. He's learned the same lesson that Jon Stewart taught and I think some newscasters are learning the same. Under no circumstances do you have to defend your party. Frankly, it's better for both if you don't. Ideals get given a more real public testing and the newscaster shows integrity. If you want trust in the media back, start there.

Same besides the part about standing corrected, as I will never align with radical Leftist views after evaluating arguments and motives by both sides. I'm glad I watched this tho, because it looks like Trevor is maturing and willing to have a civil discussion where he and others can learn from an alternative view. Even if his views never develop into at least more moderate ones, I think his approach is refreshingly detached from the mudslinging I've seen in the past. Maybe even one day he'll come to realize the truth about why the MSM and influencers like Obama slandered Trump from the moment he entered office, and continue to do so with every weak argument they can find. Most the of the jokes are set up or paid off by quotes or statements made by real people, showing how ridiculous their statements are. It takes a smart person to do that, and brighter people than news casters to write and put text through a comedic process to make it effective. In its nature, some people won’t find satire funny, it’s rooted in taking a side, but what most people won’t understand is that it’s also rooted in opportunities. If one side is giving a comedian pure gold, who are they not to use it as material. I’m pretty sure large statements like “Noah is barely a comedian, let alone knowledgeable about politics and history,” lack nuance, especially in the context of a video like this where there is nuance galore, but also doesn’t give him credit for what his actually is. A comedian. Sadly, a comedian that interviewed a politician better than most reporters on any side can. Thats because his shows narrative changes when hes just shouting into an echo chamber, hammering one political party, appeasing his core audience. When he gets an actual elected member from the republican party, he changes his tone real fast. Id watch this show. The current incarnation of the show is trash.

So unfortunate that bi-partisan conversations like this can’t occur in Congress. Crenshaw show himself to be one of the few Republicans capable of this type of interactions and to speak eloquently without fear of Trump backlash. I sure would love to see more of this Dan Crenshaw. It’s very refreshing to see a Republican that can engage in a back and forth discourse as opposed to making outrageous statements and outright lying. Trevor was also fantastic, and even handed in his approach, which helped this become such a productive and enjoyable debate.

It just feels so much better to listen to a civil discussion than it does to watch people yell at each other. This is ultimately why the mainstream media will fail because all they have are shouting matches. Bravo to Trevor and Dan. We are all much more alike than we have been lead to believe!

I'm all for civil discussion and I agree that we NEED to be doing more of this. But I will never sit down and give air to power hungry opportunists.
