There should be vetting! I'm a child and adolescent therapist, and I foster young lives. However, I don't vote on our public federal laws. Yet, I had to give every piece of my history. I had to declare everywhere I lived the past 20 years, my high school information, undergrad education, my graduate level education, current and past licensing, my credentials, and my fingerprints.

Correction to Ana's assertion: The democrats did not voted against on the motion to expel Santos, the first time around. What happened was that some democrats voted PRESENT, and the ones that did so, were the ones that are part of the House Ethics Committee (a committee with an equal number of democrats and republicans) and still investigating the issue, so they voted PRESENT to not give the appearance of impropriety or bias, while the matter was still being investigated.

Two words - Al Franken.

They need to also investigate the people in power who donated and supported his initial campaign. They knew he was a lying imposter yet still poured in a ton of dark money into his super pact.
