Why do we stripe our Parking lots?
1. Striping a parking lot has many benefits, first and foremost safety. But also, curb appeal, parking management & a less expensive version of a sign.
2. Striping regularly can save you money in the long run. A properly maintained and sealed asphalt surface has an extended lifetime and reduces lo due to liability issues or the higher cost of having to do a new layout if the paint gets so far faded that it all has to be measured out again.
3. Striping also can lea

Just wondering your 850 titan. The only reason you don't get crispy lines it's because of the tires they're not air tires they're plastic but if you change the tires on it and still have the machine balanced shouldn't be a problem just wondering by the way I just started this business first year hopefully everything goes well

You kicked the gun out and lined the hood up straight. Better to see, I like that. Looked like a 3900 ? With probably fast set oil? Everything looked great, your starts, alinement on the old line. I’ve been striping for an airport for 10 years. And I’m wanting to get out and do parking lots. We only use latex at the airport so I’m unfamiliar with laying down oil. I’ve seen some new lines in my area that was put down with oil on new asphalt and they have this light over spray on both sides. Curious if that’s common with the new asphalt being so black, maybe not noticeable on older asphalt. I’m training my daughter to stripe so we can work together in this business. I’ve picked up a graco 3400 to get started with. So I have oil in the machine teaching her. I’m also getting just a little over spray with the oil. Using a 319 with just under 1500 psi. Any tips for painting on new asphalt. We haven’t done any jobs yet still getting some stuff together like a pressure washing set up and looking to be ready for next spring. Again it all looked good 👍🏻

If you slide you gun in closer to the machine and in line with the axis of the front tire everything will be way more rigid and you can move twice that fast. Being inline with the front tire makes your line width more consistent in width.

Wondering how the paint holds up on top of gravel and moss/mold green stuff if the lots aren’t cleaned or prepped ahead of time. Also wondering why the two inches was important to mark with crayon, and not just paint to the already straight concrete/asphalt line? I guess it’s the customer’s request at the end of the day.
@jsantaite1
@jsantaite1 5 месяцев назад
I was thinking the same thing. As the owner of a softwash business, I would think that prepping the surface would be the first thing to do. I would imagine that this might be an upsell item that the client declined...? Any industry want to chime in on this and what is considered standard practice when it comes to prepping the surface.
@AllenHeredia-ce8gf
@AllenHeredia-ce8gf 3 месяца назад
I agree.....the surface should be washed down with water and a street broom to scrub the line to remove mold, dirt and lose asphalt. Dry with blower. Site prep should never be an option for the customer......

Its a GREAT addition to a business, the painting buggy's aren't too expensive and there is certainly a need for pavement markings. You can't stripe if its too cold or wet..... being in Oregon that's tough, but where you guys are you get less rain than us and your springs tend to be a little nicer. @coastpave
@coastpave Год назад
Thanks for commenting, Pal - in an ideal world we can clean the pavement using machines, apply sealcoat and then do a new paint job. In this instance they just wanted stripes as we would be sealcoating it and/or restriping it in the very near future - so we didn't use cleaning machines, we just used our blower and a wire push broom to clean the cline. There is no *loose dirt being painted in this video.
