FYI. At about 43 seconds in, you can see his "metal blade" has already broken free from the molded plastic of the key's side that has the holes for the buttons. My OEM 2002 SC key was cracked elsewhere and the blade was still embedded into the plastic on the holes side of the case. I had to use wire clippers to cut away the plastic holding the actual metal key part and free it. Also, the machine screw on the OEM key only attaches to the metal key blade since the blade is already affixed to the holes side of the case. Because the surround used in this replacement key is NOT fixed to the original blade, the newly supplied screw goes all the way THROUGH the screw hole in the blade and screws into plastic on the holes side of the replacement case. I wish it was that easy for mine. The screws won’t budge a single bit. And as for my second key whose chip is missing and housing cracked, the key blade did not simply pop off. It looks like the plastic was molded onto the key. Any tips?
My metal key does NOT pop out like that. Its molded into the plastic. None of these videos show how to remove the metal piece. I could use a dremel or something. But it would be nice to see. Its the hardest step and its not shown
