@@ja52ng74 I have a lot of cast iron pans, I have been re-seasoning them while inside during COVID-19. I have never heard of using carrots to improve no-stick and can not find information about it anywhere. Do you know of any links that have information on carrots and non-stick for cast iron? Thank you I appreciate it.
@@theotherwalt Carrot peels, potato peels and certain veggies in general seem to help spread the oil around during the seasoning process. Most tutorials for seasoning carbon steel mention this method, but it works for cast iron too.
It's dilute acid, and it isn't that common for people who do restorations on metal objects to use dilute acid on or concentrated acid, food-safe or not. The acid removes some of the rust; the rest you have to scrub with a metal brush. But don't worry, you can rinse off the acid.
