Thanks man, I've encountered the same issue with my headset since a few days ago and will try and give this method a go. I think that there is a disconnection where the cable enters the base of the left ear cup, probably caused by continually trying to straighten the cable that keeps twisting up. I really hope Logitech comes up with a solution for the severe twisting of those braided cables in their future products.
Protip: Order replacement leather earpads (or more likely, pleather/fake leather) and the sound quality will jump up by several tiers. I discovered this on accident, but trust me, I can not overstate enough how much better they sound now. Alternatively, if you want the sound quality to get worse and get an open back like experience, you can get replacement fabric pads on like ali or amazon. The foam in those isn't quite as good.
Awesome guide. Do you think you could do one on how to splice the main cable if it is cut? The wires have a coating im not used to and they have a single strand of wire in the middle of the colored coated wire that has its own coating. It makes me nervous since i'm working between the mic switch and headset where there is limited cable to work with.
@@stoopidhaters Hell it is. In the hard part where the cable connects to the headset, the right side cable is out of contact. I mean the cable is broken internally due to poor quality cable. Logitech does this a lot. Have you ever seen a fully functional g300 past 3 years old?
so a little update... yesterday I rewired my headset for the third time. Right now, the only original cable inside the thing is the one inside the band over the head part. But this time instead of putting the right side cable inside the joints i melted the plastic with soldering iron like in the video (but no cable is visible from outside). Also in my previous comment i blamed the wire but the thing is actually it is because of the joint design. If u put a jumper wire there you can see that it can only resist like a month, then the joint just cuts the wire.
i was vacuuming one day and it sucked my g430's cord in it. Then smokes were coming so i immediately pulled the vacuums cord and tried to save the headset. It stopped working since then. Should I open inside and try to fix it or its trash now ?
Könntest du mir helfen bei meinem headset sind dort zwei kabel abgebrochen die für die linke rechte seite ist wie kriege ich es wieder zusammen das kabel scheint zu kurz zu sein
Do you have any insights on the mic functioning? mine only works until half way down, then it just goes mute, didn't see many details from the mic there thanks anyway
could be a broken cable between the headset and the headphone jack. But i think there is a bigger chance that the software is doing this. Try to disable all mic settings (include noise reduction).
hey , good video bud , anyone got an idea on where i can find cable replacement (mic jack broken) ? or how i can solder mic cable into the usb adapter if that would work ? ty tho
everything's gonna work with same amount of cable's inside ( grounding included ), i think doesn't have to be the same size, but i let captain's answer this question
You can find some replacement cables on ebay. Yes u can solder it direct to the adapter, if u cut it open and find the soldering points for Mic/Mic_Ground/R+/L+/Speaker_Ground. Another method would be to cut the plug carefully and replace it with a new one. An easier method would be to install a TRRS Jack into the headset itself and use a splitter for the adapter.
u can take just a regular audio cable and strip it. Also u can buy one or two aux cables. If u are not experienced with stripping thin cables, then u can buy a jack (2-3€/$) and attach it to your headset.
Check the wire path. The isolated cable to the headphone plug can be broken in the middle (or maybe a loose contact). The Cable between the left and right speaker is also weak on this model.
What if cable of right ear works only in a certain position? I have detached the whole right ear with the sponge and it seems that the channel where the cable reaches the right ear has the cable glued on it. How do I solve it?
Try to remove the glue by pulling and renew the solderpoints. If it still dosnt work right, then it could be a broken cable. In most situations it is the cable
@@rekillaluand4154 If there are 3 cables, then there is a left signal, right signal and one ground. The ground of the left and right channel can be shared by one wire in some cases. The left and right signal just takes a direct path to each speaker side (L+,R+) (sometimes it has a small component in between for filtering frequencies). The one ground goes straight to both speakers (-). In most cases it is just a passthrough without any logic. You can determine it by following the visible path on the board, or by looking at the direction of each cable
