Don’t use a cutter at the beginning. Use a nail polish remover ( acetone) twice with a Q tip on the edge of the box Wait a few minutes ( dry) then use a hair dryer on the edge of the box . Then you can use a cutter and ( or) a small french screwdriver to open.. I do that successfully today.
Thanks for your help. I just needed to know where i needed to go to disconnect the two plates to get access to the main control board. My charger intermittently not able to charge when i move the cable. Assume it was a intermittent disconnection internally. Opened the two plates and used my meter to check the ohms between the charging plugs from board to laptop, the wires seems fine. Disconnect the wall plug from the box and found L1 is fine, but N has a broken connection. OOPS, lol. I didn't check the easy wires first. I didn't need to get access to the main board. Good solution. I would have put the wire through the hole first then made the connection by soldering them. I would have also used shrink wrap to insulate them. I have two bad ones that I will attempt this on just to have as backup.

Very helpful video - thank you! One question - I have looked at the individual wires in the power cord before opening the power supply, and I notice three wires plus the screen. These are a red wire (thicker) and two thin wires, one is blue / grey and the other white. From your video I think the white wire may be included with the screen when you make the connections, so there are only three connections to make - is this correct?
Hi. My Surface PRO charger does not work sometimes and I could not charge my Surface PRO . After Some plug in and Plug out AC input or charger port on the Surface PRO, it take charge and it happen when Surface PRO on or off. How can I solve this ? 🌹🌹
Charger saya kadang nyala lampunya kadang mati. Dan ini sudah lebih seringnya mati. Sudah dicek2 sepertinya tidak ada kabel yg putus. Klo di sambung usb untuk charge ke Hp, Hpnya tertulis "sedang mengisi" tapi hanya sekejap dan sampai sedetik, dan tidak ada muncul ikon mengisi pada baterei Hpnya. Di surface booknya led tidak nyala. Sampai skrg belum tahu rusaknya di mana. Ada petunjuk?
Do not try this at home if you are not a professional.. I am not a professional.I was doing it first time (got inspired by the video) and I cut my finger while opening the adapter with a knife. Its painful and you don’t want that pain vs some bucks for new charger.
