Thank you!! Holding the power and volume up button saved me! I couldnt turn on my computer and the empty battery sign started flashing. The restart allowed me to turn on the computer, then uninstall the Microsoft Surface ACPI-Compliant Battery, and the issue seems to have been fixed!

IT WORKED ! The charger was lighting up , whenever the battery will die the icon would show up. I’d put it on the charger, but then it wouldn’t restart. But this worked perfectly thank you!!!

I don't know what magic your video did, I was watching it but trying my own ways and it worked. It wasn't working earlier. Anyways good video I must say you have debugged all possible edge cases.

In my case, the issue is with the connector. The contacts on the female part (on the laptop side) don't make connection. This causes the LED to stay off. Sometimes, when I clean the contact within the cavity and reinsert the male part the LED comes on and charging occurs. However, the connection is bad and as soon there is a movement the LED goes off. Bad design by Microsoft!

I have a Surface Pro 5 and just holding the power button for 20 seconds turned it on. When the login screen appeared, the battery was empty but it said it was charging when I had the Surface power cable plugged in.

Also flip the power cord and plug into the brick. That’s what I did to make my surface pro charge again. Try that before you buy the cord.

In my case, the white lite on the power cord is actually lit/on. Any suggestions on what I could do? It seems that my power cord is good so the problem is with the battery. While I was on battery, I uninstalled and reinstalled the battery driver software but it did not help. Now my battery is down to zero and it is actually not powering on. Any suggestions?

Part of this remedy worked for me. Unplugged the figure 8 part of the cord from the brick and replugged it in and then pressed the power button down on my laptop and it started to boot up!

Got 10 pro 4 units off eBay recently without chargers so i got a couple of generic chargers off Amazon 44W 15V 2.58A for Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Common problem with these, will not draw any charge in any of them so not a single one will boot. Sure i get the light up when plugged in but that's about it. tried every combination and tip to get them working Would you confirm my suspicion these generic chargers don't give out enough wattage to power the devices up ?

There are times when the battery gos too low to charge up. I get a UBS C cord and give it a little charge then go back to the Surface Go cord.

How this work on surface laptop?

I bought a 100w USB-C charger. Charges almost as quickly. Wasn't cheap. But, seems like a more reliable charging source.

The light is on still not charging. I changed the power cord just shows the battery icon.

If the LED at the end of the power shoe lace is lit, does it mean the Power brick is good? Can I fix the brick with some mortar or do I need spackle? If the brick is bad, Home Depot has them for way less than what you said...
