A High School art teacher friend of mine, Jim, asked me to help him get a bunch of pottery wheels back into operation. Nothing too fancy, it was a bunch of small problems. After the video Jim shows me how use one of the wheels. Warning: The demo at the end has an irritating noise.

Just bought a cheap Vevor wheel and the spinning top part is wobbly. Do you have any idea on how to fix it?

Hi! I'm curious, I have an Amaco Electic Potter's Wheel No 1-101, it's vintage... and the motor is a DC motor and described as the following in the paperwork Amaco sent me. They no longer make parts for this or motors so I wondered what you recommended I could replace or repair it with? From the spec sheet "This wheel is driven by a two-speed 1/3 H.P. motor connected to a gear reduction unit by a heavy duty flexible coupling. Wheel speeds are controlled by a three position switch - Low for 65 R.P.M., High for 95 R.P.M., and Off."

All simple stuff unless you need a controller board. The rub might be underneath related to pulley

I was really surprised there were no board issues. I should've fixed the noise. Like you say it was probably something simple and it drove me nuts when editing the video! Thanks for watching!

I hear you loud and clear. I do ceramics and fix stuff too. Mainly darkrooms in schools. I could see you had your hands full and the teacher would not have been a first pick but he was the guy and hopefully you were well compensated. Respectfully M

I am in need of someone who can fix a Magnavox Console Record Player. I’m in Kentucky, but can bring it to Ohio or Tennessee as well. Can anyone recommend a repairman or shop? Please and thank you!!

No sorry I can't help. I personally have a dismal record for getting the record player itself working.
