they are a common failure on them and they actually sell the pickups separate you just drill the rivet out and using a small nut and bolt fit the replacement , used to do 2 or 3 a week when i had my shop

Ah the bloody square thing. Gets me every time. Mine has been opened many times for repair and modifications.
