It's really good to see you bring these classics back to life..in 1964 they were the pride of Ford Motor Company..until 1965..you know how that goes..at some point you are going to have to get a plasma cutter if you continue to do body work..the prices are coming down a bit .you'll see ..i appreciate what you are doing my brother had a 64 fastback it was beautiful my first car was a 65 fastback turquoise with a white top i loved that car..i bought another one in 1990 it was a one owner .i still have it..80,000 original miles it drives and runs like new.. Hope you had a great christmas and new year ..see you on the next one..Cheers 🍻🍻🍻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I've been Doing body work for years, I'm more a mechanic, but being a Perfectionists I've had to learn body work. You Did Really Good Guys. I would have Glass beaded the under skin but if you Do the Rust stop it should be fine. I love them old Galaxies. One of Fords best body styles. We are more Chevy but love all of the big 3. My Dad actually bought a brand new one that year because the Chevy Dealership thought he was a Kid with no money. So he went across the street to the Ford Dealership. $2600.00 BRAND NEW!! WOW. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK. LOVE THE VIDEOS
I felt like I was the only crazy guy working on my classic at night making noise waking up the neighbors ...I work everyday and only time I have to work on my truck is after 7pm
Bro I work at a hotrod shop myself and own a 71 F100 so I get it but I'm alot older and it's nice to see a young man so brave to dive into metal work ...Ive been watching your page now for awhile I guess since you did the grill on the truck and I'm impressed with you and your friends
Craig buddy you are working yourself right into a hotrod body man and fabrication career!!!!!!! You are dam good for doing this in the back yard, pat your self on the back it looks great dude.
Enjoy your vids keep it up! I will say one thing in the name of safety get a full face shield for when your using those death wheels! Trust me from my experience! I’ve had several explode and one went clean thru my shield and cut face all up. I’d say if hadn’t had the shield I would’ve had significant facial injuries.
Craig, I won't sugar coat a thing... you did very well for a first attempt and when you do the red one, it will just be a repeat but this time the trash will come off and then the cuts go in. You can hold a piece of brass against the top on the inside and then hold the piece of metal to be butt welded so the brass keeps it where you want... welding won't stick to brass. Its more mental than hard labor as it really gets to you worrying about warping and other things that come to play in your head... your doing good, very good
Its pretty amazing how you find the time for multiple projects AND school AND a paying job AND the videos along with I guess keeping a girlfriend accommodated(possibly the most difficult part of all)......whew! Im 70 and you remind me of a young me. My "hobby" cost me 2 divorces each of which gave me an ultimatum - them or the cars. I think about those women from time to time. Anyway keep doing what your doing and pick your women very carefully. I bet theres a lot of seasoned guys watching your channel who have a similar story. Will keep watching.
reminds me of the 94 ram i looked at that had what appeared to be a 4in layer of window sealant above the windshield instead of metal lol. gotta love good ole PA road salt
Man I can't wait to see those galaxies done. But when you get it done it's going to be so hard to sell it. It would look good in your garage 2 decked-out Out Ford Galaxy's had the same problem when I had to sell my 72 El Camino love the work and good luck on the channel. Florida boys
I actually gotta do some body work to my '74 K20. Both sides of the bed right above the rear wheels is some pretty rough rust, little bit of corner rust on the cab and and bit on the passenger door. This actually taught me quite a bit.
when u do ur gap on the panels use a paint stick glue 2 razer blades to it flood the panel by the gap with bondo when the bondo get that gel feel too it cut the gap then u just fill the inside of the gap sand it till u hit metal if dun right u will have perfect gap and lightly sand the end of the gaps do not take too much off . the door gap on end were it open if it is a driver i would wield that gap or cut what is needed but would keep it metal then flood it for level it too the other panel behind the panel u put round fome then close the panel so bondo doesn't go to deep in the gap .
You can stitch weld all of that back together... Which is nice and it works but learning how to lay lead is not a bad skill to have and it's not as hard as you think it takes a little prep work and a little patience once you get the hang of it it's awesome.. putting the lead down on a clean surface with flux and your oil paddles is like putting frosting on a cake on a cold day but shaping it is like Bondo.. just a suggestion it takes a little bit to get into itbut I've seen your skills and your patience and your determination and I think you could do it it's a lost art Craig it's one of them things that only a handful of people are doing in the country 🤔🤔😎
Yeah but hes a young guy and may want to keep the lead in his pencil for a latter date with his misses if you know what i mean, doesnt lead. Inhalation cause sterile sperm count?? Not sure but heard somewhere lead is bad for males wanting to be daddys.or something like that. Might not be worth learning!!!snookie pa. Just my two cents!!!
Great job! Love them old Galaxie's. i had a 63 box top. w/410 low riser heads, ford lower riser aluminum intake (cobra jet from a stang). loved the torgue . Keep it up!
That rust may look bad but you haven’t seen the rust belt. Oh boy my grandpa’s 1984 ranger is just rotten and gone. The floor is the carpet. The metal missing
Hey buddy glad to see your doing so well on here. Ive finally got plans to continue my project! Im putting a 144 mercruiser boat blower on my car. When its done I hope to share it woth everyone! Best of luck with your projects!
YOU DID GOOD ! hard to believe some hack did all that bondo ,back in the day ,.I have had lots of cars over the years ,none that bad ,(OK a 69 falcon sport coup had that much Bondo in it.good luck)
I would check with your local welding supply store. I had a pair like that years ago and that's where they came from. On mine the piece that goes over you ear it could slide in and out so the glasses would fit tight to your face.
Used to work around power plants under construction. Those kind of glasses and shields were standard issue. So you might find them anywhere those kind of supplies are sold.
Nice determination craig to fix it solid, rather than quick, lazymans bondo ways.cant say im not guilty of that sin also, just depends on what depth ur willing to go on a vehicle.but watching you tackle that gives me confidence to at least try n patch my rot spots on rockers on my 2002 wj,its not bad but i dont want it worse and since its paid for least would like two more yrs from it.here in pa.the salt just finds the weak link to start its cancer.wanna spray in some por 15 but not sure what setup to buy!!!i got a quart sure thats all ill need.and i havent even tryed out my titanuim 200 welder yet.got gas n wire but no garage so waiting on warmer times.was thinking of using or getting one of those fluid film guns or kits to spray the por15,just not sure what one to buy or how extravagant!!!any tips???snooky pa.
Excellent work Craig, look for Fitzee's fabrication channel and look for his cut and butt videos among others, will make butt welding repair panels a lot easier. perfect gap and fit for welding, can't see the first patch I've ever done.. keep up the great work.
