We started getting air bubbles under our interior wallpaper. It happened right along the top of the bathroom sink countertop on the back wall, this was not caused by water infiltration into the wall. Some people may say "Why didn't you just install stick on tiles over this area?" We'll we might in the future but before I'd do that I would want to make sure the wallpaper is adhered to the wall first so we could get a good tile bond.
You'll see how I fix this problem in the video, and I'll explain how I repaired a void under our linoleum flooring that was a defect in the plywood without removing the linoleum.

Oh wow I'm not sure. This trailer is a 2017 Rockwood Mini Lite 2504S so maybe you can contact Rockwood and ask them what wallpaper it is and maybe they will send you some. Here's a link that may help you - rockwoodrvparts.com/ www.youtube.com/@thetraveltrailerguy/videos

@@smayfield3503 Your welcome. You might check with a local RV shop and see if they have some or if they can order it for you. You can just give them my trailer information and that may be enough to get it ordered.

Thank you. You got me on how to patch holes in Vinyl Walls, would this be like a shower wall inside or a home exterior wall? Here's something I found on the internet that may help - craftivitydesigns.com/repair-hole-vinyl-siding/

On another note, i just noticed bubbles forming in my vinyl awning. It's a 2018 and i take care of it. Someone said it could be water that got into it. Have you run into this issue?
@thetraveltrailerguy
@thetraveltrailerguy 2 года назад
Oh wow I have never seen bubbles in a awning. Are they on the top or underneath and where are they located on the awning. Do you cover the awning from the elements when not and use
@yankeesusa1
@yankeesusa1 2 года назад
@@thetraveltrailerguy there are several in different areas. It's a bubble on top and bottom. I believe the current heat we're in did it. And it's uv protected but not covered. I'm getting ready to order the cover like you have but it doesn't have one now.

Great video for minor little wrinkles such as this. I'm searching for how to repair water damaged vinyl paper in an RV wall where I ended up slitting the paper every 4 inches and that wasn't enough. I found it to be damp in the wall so that meant more drastic approach So I slit across the bottom between all the vertical cuts so now I had strips of wall paper going up the wall but left the top end attached. OMGosh was I in for a HUGE couple of surprises. First was of course discovering the wood was actually wet. Second the wood is super thin layered wood that will fell apart once exposed to the air. Or at least the first few layers. And finally there was a first layer that stayed stuck to the now peeled wall paper. How on earth am I to get this to hold together. I can live with a few seams of wall paper that might need some creative camo work to hide them. It's the how do you glue the wood that's flaking off and so bad that much of it turns to actual dust as it crumbles before your eyes and when you aren't looking as it dries out. Not to mention some is stuck to the back side of the wall paper where some is not. How does one add something super thick binder or glue material to hold the new compromised wall together once it is dry and then accepts the wall paper strips back down too. My husband who's full of helpful ideas but isn't doing this suggests I first have to clean the wood off the wall paper. Already checked that and not happening. I can brush bits away the stuff that turns to crumbs and dust so it will brush of fall off. Which means it'll be dang impossible to brush on any glue or what have you to the back side of the wall paper. My plan is to figure out a binder to prevent the rest of the wall from crumbling to bits once fully dried. Then applying a decent thick clear glue to the dried binder (Perhaps a super thick primer binder they sell to use over bad peeling wood. Sometimes peeling wood is compromised due to water damage to the actual wood behind the paint so I'm leaning towards that. Expensive but I must do something. Of course I want it to look good when it's done. I'll need a few miracles minor as they may be too. Anyone know where I can buy a can if miracles? Anyway all this damage happened before I bought this 22 year old RV this past Feb. I was originally thinking get a syringe or needle nose applicator bottle fill with glue similar to what this video shows and make mini slits in the wall paper where it's wrinkled and fill with glue and use a rubber brayer to smooth it down again. I really am innocent when it comes to this kind of project...which is the kind that keeps on growing. (It all started when the spring temps started warming up I discovered mildew and mold below the fresh water tank. I removed it once I cut the 4 sensor wires..who needs sensors. And discovered the tank which had been drained and winterized before I bought it also now had black mold in the bottom of it...moisture still exists in the tank. Ok good thing I removed it because from top looking down you cold not see that. I would have sanitized the tank anyway but NOW I'll know for sure it is sanitized and mold free and all the plumbing replaced or sanitized too. After scraping 5-6 cups of mold and mildew mess from the bay the tank sat in and painting with two layers of mold stopping specialized expensive paint. No not Kilz much stronger specializzed stuff. Turns out it is a bit chalky. I treated it also with Oxine and Lemon Odor ban and moldex without bleach. Repeated the anti moldicides for 4 days and before painting. NO SMELL it was cured. Paint would insure it stays that way. Then filled box with 4" strips of water proofting RV roof tape in white. Looked like I inserted wood planks due to the overlaps. I went with another 2 inches around the entire box or bay if you will to insure if ever there was another leak (NOT ON MY WATCH) it would be contained and in no way could get into or reach any wood. I was thinking of doing the entire box with the tape but realized I'd have far more things to worry about if an entire 35 gallon fresh water tank leaked. So right the 2 inches around is good. So about a week later and temps were going up still I started getting wiffs of more decay and mildew. NOT as bad mind you but oh yeah it was alive and well somewhere. BUT WHERE? So checked the other empty bay except for a covered tire well. Sure enough I discovered it had some water damage going on there too. BUT FROM WHERE and what. At first I just scraped any signs away from any of the wood floor etc as a repeat of the major problem. Used the last of the anti mold paint for one layer in that bay. But I could still smell it and that's when I discovered there was wrinkled wall paper moving up the wall towards one corner of a larger RV window. Bingo source of water damage down to this bay but it had been in the wall. So to my surprise when I opened up the slits in the wall it was actually damp....had to be dried out. Good news is not much work to get rid of smell...no signs of mold but all the layered pressed together material that makes up the wall with wall paper pre-stuck to it I believe and I'm now looking at this huge mess. Tomorrow I'm off to our only hardware store near us as all others are 100 miles away and the quicker I get to it the better. I'm leaving two fans run on it day and night to make sure it dries out really well. Anyway had hoped RU-vid had a video that would match my problem to a T or closer. But I'll take this and save it in memory for another job no doubt. I noticed a few mini wrinkles in the wet bath where they put wall paper above the fiberglass lower part. I found that a little lame. I'm not sure if there's a way to water proof the wall or not. I'm investigating clear water proofing products but so far haven't found one that actually would do that. It's such a strange shape with curved walls that adding more shower installation wall material isn't going to work either. The best option is to NEVER take a shower in the WET bath...lol. Off to my ever growing learning curve as a first time owner of an RV.

Thank you and thanks for watching and commenting. Sounds like you have lots of work to do. Since you have found moisture in the walls you need to tackle this problem before doing anything else, I recommend sealing up your roof seams and anywhere else water can get into the walls like around windows, compartment doors, and windows.
