Joe’s bionic arm does an amazing job on playfields! He’s so fast!

I always feel much better when the pop bumpers are rebuilt from the ground up. As they such an important part of the action on most pinball machines, I feel like the effort on bumpers is so worth doing. Great revival of this playfield. I think this game is gonna play pretty fast. Thanks for posting. This is the first pinball video of 2024.

Pastel Neon, such lovely colours, the difference in the yellow after it was cleaned was really obvious, so vibrant for its age.

Always amazes me how well you blend the paint . I know you say you’re not very good at it , but you always make the machines look fantastic. I totally agree with you about when someone see’s a machine for the first time . The only people that notice touchups are usually the people that do them , lol . And you always worry if you did a good enough job , and 9 times out 10 nobody even pays attention. Great work Ron and Joe !

Very much enjoying this whole series of videos detailing your work on the Chicago Coin DOLPHIN machine. Looking forward to seeing what work you perform under the playfield next. Thank you for these videos. Will use your Amazon links soon.

I'm always amazed when you do the paint touch-ups. Thanks for showing the wiping method this time. And thanks for helping people by sharing all of this. I'm glad that people are being able to take the step to try it themselves after your videos. I know that I have (ok, not the painting part....yet).

Wow that's a tough color scheme to touch up. Seems that maybe dwell time would be difficult to judge. Too long and surface paint dries, too short and paint in cracks wipe out. Looks good to me. Great job.

Dayglow is tricky worked with it for years. You need to mix about half that pink with half dayglow red for that color.

Hello Mister Ron and brother(s), great pinball machine never seen this great Chigago Coin Dolphin and I have seen lot EM pinballs love them. Too me you make it almost new so difficult with these sparkling neon pink color touching up. Even when I am a little down you make me smile with your nice funny down to earth person you are. Learning us people with your skills to understand and fixing a little bit. Dude, you have GOT to get yourself some THIN paintbrushes, some Q-tips and a box of toothpicks. Thin paintbrushes give you SO much more control when trying to fill in lines (think of the tip on your black pen), Q-tips are AWESOME at cleaning up paint smears (especially when they have a bit of plain ol' alcohol on 'em) and a toothpick can be used as a SUPER thin paintbrush with the smallest bit of practice. Plus, they're all cheap as chips! Not criticism, just some hard-earned advice from someone who's been doing DIY restoration work on art, furniture, frames, etc., for YEARS and has the benefit(?) of an art degree ... AND the benefit of the tricks you learn while getting said degree! LOL! Love this channel and hope this advice helps you save some time and effort while making repairs SO much easier. Personally, I think you have the best job in the world, and I thoroughly enjoy watching you do it.

Just wondering if you use any kind of paint mixing chart to help you mix colors.
@LyonsArcade
@LyonsArcade 8 месяцев назад
Not really but I do think of the general color wheel, if you start at the top you have Red, and as you move clockwises you have orange, yellow, green, blue, purple then back up to red. It's helpful to know which color is across from the color you're using too, because a little bit of the complimentary color will make the color you're working on look more dull or less vivid, which is often a problem since the playfield is worn.... Thanks for watching!

I'm surprised you are still freehanding circles, I would've bought a template decades ago. Pretty sure they sell them on Amazon for a couple of bucks.....😁🤣👍👍👍

Go buy one, get a piece of paper, lay your template down you bought for a couple bucks, and paint a circle. Then move it and paint another one, then come back and update us with what you find out

Ron you load the paint brush too much. A little paint is more easy to spread flat than a hole lot of paint.
