Dating back to 1135, the Warden Abbey we see today is the last surviving fragment of a once great Cistercian Abbey, before it was partially demolished and converted into a country house during the Dissolution of the Monasteries.
A portion of the £1,228,839 awarded to the Landmark Trust from the Culture Recovery Fund has been used to restore and safeguard the Abbey's intricate brickwork and ornate Tudor chimneys.
