The Washington State Ferries system is shuffling several boats and fixing one on the fly to accommodate the summer rush.
Two boats on the San Juan Islands route are out of service, the M/V Samish and the M/V Yakima, with mechanical issues. The situation forced the WSF to cancel the regular schedule for the rest of the day. Now, the M/V Tillikum will sail between Anacortes and Friday Harbor to relieve displaced traffic.
WSF is working to avoid such a shuffle or cancellations of sailing on the Edmonds-Kingston route by fixing one of the boats on the fly.
