I am a 63 year old female and have never done this before. Was tough and I was scared to break something but I did it. Thanks so much for the excellent video 😊
"now that was kind of easy, but the first time I tried, it was hard to pull it out." THANK YOU! That's exactly what I needed to know. Every other video shows the bulb coming out with almost zero effort. I had to pull really hard to get them out and kept thinking I was missing a step and about to break something
I am a 23 year old woman who knows NOTHINGGG about cars. I mean zip but with this video I went out and changed both of my headlights in like 5 minutes. Thank you for your service sir🫡
Detatch the bulb from the housing first! Then you can separate the bulb from the wiring. It’s much easier this way. I did it today and it took me 3 minutes.
thanks for this. there is another video in which they took the bulb out with connector, and then disconnect it. which I think might be easier. anyhow so glad I found these two videos and changed the bulbs myself. the name brand garage near me wanted to charge 130 bucks for labor. what crazy price !!!

Thank you so much for this. I went to auto zone to buy the bulbs thinking i could get them to help me change the bulbs. The man refused said something about to many screws whatever that means. I got home and decided nothing i cant find on RU-vid, saw your video and i got it done. So proud of myself. Thank you so much🎉
Thank you for this extremely helpful tutorial! This is the second time I’ve referred to this in order to replace my headlights. Wouldn’t say I’m a “handy” individual but the confidence boost in being able to do this myself was awesome. This time around, I picked up one of those headlight flashlights and wow! Made it so much easier. Thanks again for the opportunity to not have to hire someone for once!!
Currently it's 2°F outside with feel like temp of -15°F......I didn't want to be waisting time figuring this out. Your video saved me from freezing my butt of and possibly trying to rush it with cold plastic parts. Thanks for the video! Btw my driver light was easy to remove. However, passenger side required a flat head.
Thank you, my headlight on the passenger side went out a couple days ago, I was furious because I thought it was an LED assembly, but then I found out it was a halogen light...so now you've showed me what to do and I will do it ❤️
🎉 my first time ever under a hood of a car 💅🏾thanks so much took me less than ten minutes and I use a letter opener … now my brakes I’ll leave to the professionals 😊thanks again
Thanks for the honest review. I have a 2016, and you demonstrated how that outside plastic thing won't budge even when you "press down" on it. It's tricky but the recommended short screwdriver is also correct. Once off, replacement is a breeze. Thanks again for the help.

Nice detailed video. Thank you for adding the screwdriver alternative for unhooking the bracket. I was having difficulty getting off until I watched your video. Now I see how it works. 👍🏼😂

Done in less than 10 minutes! (Would have been 5 if I had my screwdriver handy.) Personally, I couldn't get the right angle to get the harness off the bulb while everything was in, so I turned the bulb and tugged it out while it was attached. (Watch the wires!) THEN, I could use my screwdriver to get the harness off the bulb. Then, popped the bulb back in and attached the harness back. Easy peasy! Thank you for this vid!
Helpful video. Mine were hard to uncle too but instead of using my tiny screwdriver to pry the bulb covers off, per the video, I used the handle to apply a little more pressure to push down the clip and it worked. 🎉
The screwdriver technique was something I could find nowhere else; I did not want to shatter the plastic clip so I appreciated the idea of using a screwdriver to remove the plastic power sheath.
Thank you for having the bulb size in the description! Meant I could buy the bulb last night. None of the websites I went to wanted to just tell me what to get.

Thank you! That was really helpful. Just replaced both my RAV4 headlights within a few minutes. I did need to use a screwdriver to help pull the electrical connector off. So thanks for the tip.
Thanx for the effort 👍As with your experience I found it hard to remove the bulb assembly from the auto body mount point. One note I think the job goes easier if one removes the bulb assembly from the frame first then separates the bulb from the wiring harness.
There is a detailed description of how to do this in your owner's manual on page 596. You want to screw the bulb out first and then disconnect the wiring harness. Great video!
I'm assuming you took the connector cable off first because of having one hand but it's way easier if you just take the bulb out first then pull the red connection off.... Trust me

Thanks for info. I have question. Last year I replaced both bulbs upgraded to led lights. Now led bulb gone. I tried to put regular halogen bulbs. Some how they dont fit. Looks like led bulbs sockets wont come out when i took led bulbs out. That three star or tips around bulbs. If you have suggestions please let me knows.
To pop that clip just use the square tip of a 1/4" socket wrench & use it to push down on the end of the tab in the center of the red clip on the end closest to the red & white wire and tug down. Slides right off
