How do you get the back 2 screws out? My screwdriver cannot get on it flush?

I took the 4 screws out and nothing moved and i was about to start deconstructing the entire armrest but then i thought twice. “There’s probably a tutorial on RU-vid that’ll show me how to do this” and voilà!!! Your video was here! I’m kinda surprised u didn’t go ahead and edit out the part when you were fumbling with the spring/latch since you already broke out the editing function to figure the thing out. LOL anyway thanks!

Thank you for posting this video. I just finished replacing both the upper and lower latches. The video gave me a lot of confidence in tackling the task. I would recommend moving both front seats up all the way and working on this from the back seat. It sure made it a lot easier for me. I just saved myself a lot of money! Yay!! More dollars for facial fillers! My new thing.

What's not shown here at clip 2:40 just before he close the armrest lid, is that some 2009 Sonata GLS model (mine) has another piece of plastic cover that has screw hole in order to keep the replacement part and spring in place.. that piece of plastic needs to be put in and screwed back in place for the latch to properly work. Still thank you for this excellent video.

Appreciate this walkthrough. I wish that I could find the latch for my 2013 Kia Rio. I have reached a deadend with online searching, so it's either get a new armrest, search a junkyard or leave it broken.

Installed quickly and correctly ...but the part with the hook is Too Short and will not lock into the base ????
