This is now the second time I've had to replace this cord. The first factory cord lasted about 10 years. The replacement wasn't nearly as generous. I guess if it only takes 10 min or so it's not a big deal. Takes longer to find the tools most times than to do the repair.

I know that worked for you, but you should wind the spring and put tension on it. then thread cord through the shroud and tie a slip knot just to hold it. then cut to length and put your handle on. I'm not being critical at all, but you should have way more pull to start the saw. good job!

I tried pre-winding a couple of times, but it's as if it wouldn't stay. Perhaps I need a new spring. It would coil up, but when I pull the rope it would recoil as much as it was. Thanks for watching!

025/ ms250 uses around 30" for the starter rope. Yours is definitely on the short side or you have too many wraps on your spring.

I brought my traumatized brain in hopes of partial recovery ‘I’m sure I’ll need meetings and mj therapy to get over’. I feel like Gary Busey speaking on Buttered Sausages but…Yes let’s talk about rewinding that spring. I tried and could have died!
