Replace Door Control Receiver Module 89741-AA020 for 2002-2006 Toyota Camry 

I had the same problem with a 2003 Toyota Camry. The fobs didn't work even with new batteries. Thank you so much for this video. I never would have tried to fix the problem without it. I purchased and installed a door control receiver module for $34 on Ebay. Now all the fobs are working again. Thanks so much.!

My wife's 2010 Camry (australia) recently the key fob stopped functioning, I replaced the battery, to no avail, I've checked the fuse under the dash, it was ok, so this video helped a lot to find where the receiver should be. It made sense since i recently replaced the rear speakers and had that panel off, seeing the parts behind, I recall a box like that one. Thank you. Even though I checked my battery, and I was convinced it had to be something wrong with the receiver in the car, I decided to change the key battery again after watching this video, and to my amazement, the friggin thing started WORKING again!😮 Thank you for this video!

Thanks for uploading this. I couldn't even get the car in "programming" before. Saw this and I went to a junkyard to get the part, installed it and bam I was able to program the fob. Cheers.

Thanks for the valuable information. I have tried in vain reprogramming it and it only works sometimes randomly and then it ultimately failed to work for 2 years since. After your video I am going to opt for replacement unit. But I am going to reprogram it one more time in hope it may work again then get that part. Many thanks.

My mechanic said my ECU was fried up and it would cost me $600 plus labor to fix it up. I took a look in the C pillar of my car as you did on this video, and surprise, there was no receiver in it. I just ordered one from eBay for 40 bucks. Wow, my mechanic was seriously trying to rip me off!!

After change new receiver it need to reprogramming or can use without reprogramming?

I have the same Camry with similar issues. Did you reprogram the existing key FOB using the add mode or the rewrite mode after installing the new door control module?

I have a 2005 Toyota Camry, and it does not have the screw to remove the panel on the rear pillar. I see no way to get it off without tearing it up and damaging it. Is the receiver even under that panel on this car? The car came with 2 fobs that don't work even with fresh batteries.

Good day sir,my Toyota matrix 2004 key fob refuse to pair with the vehicle receiver module. When I try programming, once the car gets to programmable mode,then I press the lock and unlock buttons, followed by the lock button, nothing happens. I got another replacement fob with the same part number,same thing happened. Please can you help me out?

The driver’s door open and unlocked. Key out of the ignition. 1. Insert and remove the key from the ignition switch 2 times within 5 seconds. NOTE: Steps 2 and 3 should be performed within 40 seconds. 2. Close and open driver’s door TWICE. 3. Insert the key into the ignition and remove it. NOTE: Steps 4 - 6 should be performed within 40 seconds. 4. Close and open the driver’s door twice. 5. Insert the key into the ignition. 6. Close the door. 7. Turn the ignition switch from “Lock” to “On” and back to “Lock” at about 1 second intervals to select the desired mode: -1 time for ADD mode. -2 times for REWRITE mode. -3 times for CONFIRMATION mode. -5 times for PROHIBITION mode. 8. Remove the key from the ignition. 9. To confirm your mode selection, the power locks will now cycle “lock” to “unlock” a number of times corresponding to your key cycles in step 7. NOTE: If Confirmation or Prohibition modes have been selected, opening the door will complete the procedure. 10. For Add or Rewrite modes do the following within 40 seconds of Door Lock confirmation: A. Press both transmitter Lock and Unlock buttons simultaneously between 1 and 1.5 seconds and release. B. Within 3 seconds of step A, press the transmitter Lock button for more than 1 second and release. If the transmitter has been successfully programmed, the power locks will cycle “lock” to “unlock” once at this time. If there are problems with the transmitter or the procedure up to this point, the locks will cycle twice. If this occurs, verify that you have received the correct transmitter, and then repeat the above procedure. C. If multiple remotes are to be reprogrammed, repeat steps A and B. 11. Open the driver’s door to conclude programming mode.
