We are going to replace the strut bearings and the front spring seat on this Volvo S80 from 2001. There is a horrible creaking noise when turning and especially when going into parking spaces. Most likely, the bearing on the strut has taken a hit in the crash accident that happened some years ago. In this video, we show you step by step how to remove the driver's side strut and what tools you need to succeed. We also have to use spring tensioners to be able to remove the old bearing and the spring seat.
When reassembling, we also take up the tightening torques that apply to the various parts.
