Going to do this myself since now being a widow, they’re ALL my jobs! Thx much!👍🏻

I feel your pain. 😢Am also recently widowed and watching lots of RU-vid videos to learn to do “boy things.” I have two bathrooms, so I can use the other one if this takes me longer than 10 minutes! Good luck! 🍀

How’d you end up doing? I’m a widow too and am faced with either doing this myself or paying a plumber.

@@Trinity209 not the best! After I tried to remove the “guts”, we have so much gunk around it from our hard water, it would barely budge. But whatever I did w/I tried to unscrew the bottom, the water started flowing again (Evn tho it’s still slow!) and I’m able to use/flush my toilet again!👍🏻 Then the short hose from the hot water to my bathroom sink faucet got a leak on it, spraying water all over the floor and into the kitchen ceiling!🤦🏻‍♀️ So going thru the workshop I found Elmer’s ProBond glue. Let the slit dry overnight, then I put 2 thick layers on the slit, letting it dry, too! After dry, I cut a couple strips of that thin, shiny, silver, sticky on 1 side furnace tape, wrapped it around the slit, thn squeezed tightly together! 👍🏻 Nicely tight and dry I turned the water back on and so far NO LEAKS! 🙏🏻👍🏻

I'm a widow, as well. Just watched a video on how to replace my kitchen faucet. One of my teen daughters helped. We had a little kitchen flood but finally got it done. 😅 Now on to the two toilets in our home. One is running, the other doesn't fill right. Murphy's Law, right? 😅

I learned how to do the inside of the tank from this video (thanks) but i had to watch another video to figure out what you were doing underneath. Maybe show that angle too.

Never did this before, but you did it with such confidence, I gave it a try. Thanks for all the tips!

I’ve done this 4 or 5 times over the years but it’s nice to watch a video instead of spending time reading directions and I’d like to say you did a great job explaining and you seem to do good work. Thank you for helping me and I’m sure lots of other people out. The one I’m changing now I put a piece of ear plug rope around the float a couple years ago so I’m draining and wiping out the inside and putting a new fill overflow in also. I’m half tempted to put a whole new toilet in it’s so old. But thanks again for the help. ✌️👍🇺🇸

You showed nothing underneath the tank. Why is that? You really should show the job from the side also since that is where the underneath part of the tank needs to be disconnected and also show that if you don’t have the newer part for the connect where you had to use the actual gasket instead of the screw on if you’re using an older valve.

This guy's funny he showed nothing from under the tank so if you have no experience you're not going to know what the hell you're doing

Are all brands standard? Or do you have to know what to buy?
@einarhornraiser9019
@einarhornraiser9019 5 месяцев назад
They're all pretty much standard. The hole in the toilet tank the "flapper" valve covers is 2", and just about all the parts kits you'll find at Home Depot are for the 2" size. Sometime in the early 2000s, they started making toilets with a 3" hole, but most folks in the US have the 2".
