Mine was a freaking nightmare. The tub hadn't been touched since it's installation in '61. Mine wouldn't turn. Sprayed it with Blaster cut a notch on each side to grip it with a flat bar. I ended up doing careful and dangerous surgery with my Sawzall. Cut the thing in half then cut it into quarters and pried the small piece out and tap, tap, tap...800 times with a cold chisel and it finally unscrewed. Cleaned the threads and screwed in the new one. No thread damage...wow! Lucky!
Just so you know. Plumbers use pipe dope on the threads. And we also replace the shoe gasket when replacing tub drain. And that tool is called a smart dumbbell🤙🤣
@danielmoger7308 plumbers put pipe dope on every threaded joint. Most of the time we use Teflon AND pipe dope. Because we don't like free call backs. 💯🤙
