Replaced my Pan American Special with a 2023 Road King 

Thanks for watching! I’m now on the process of ordering the locked and loaded add on to some 12” mini apes from KST. I’m thinking I’m going to do a video on the process to try and make it easier for some folks that might need it. The stock bars are only 8” and are too wide imo.

As soon as I caught word of this year's colors, I immediately put down my deposit, sight unseen. After watching your video, I know I made the right decision - bike is handsome AF!

Don’t miss the fairing with the wind splitter and on these hot days I’ve taken that off while riding! Just hit 3000 miles. I was up in Gettysburg 2 weeks ago with it at bike week!

love the RK and that color is nice lookin so I have the CVO RG not having a money tree in my backyard gonna get a DR 650 for the off road I would end up beating the hell out of a big heavy ADV bike I have the Tiger 1200 and wouldn't try it

Just finished with needed accessories for moto-camping on the new RK. How do you like the change from having no fairing? I really like the windsplitter shield and less weight and bulkiness in the front.

It took some getting used to. Definitely learned about core strength riding with no fairing. Got the road warrior fairing and a 17 inch windshield now and I love the look of it. I never used my navigation on the RG. Then when I upgraded to a stage 2 I turned my radio completely off so I could hear my bike more. That’s when I was like I don’t need all this in front of me.

@@ryansherman7120 I would love to see a photo of the road warrior fairing (I have been eyeing that). My iPhone has been my infotainment system on all bikes, I never used the NAV on the PA either. Saved about $6 to 7$k skipping the fairing on the RG or SG.

Wow, what are the odds! And you also went to a RKS, in the near future I’m planning to address why I chose the RKS over a fairing bike, wondering if your thought process is similar to mine! Sorry about your Pan Am, great concept but just not all the way there yet!

@@frankpolievkajr you might relate after dealing with electronic glitches on the Pan America. I specifically did not want a screen on my bike. As a former Night Train owner I really like the blacked out look of the black RKS. You definitely made the right move my friend.

@@frankpolievkajr RKS over fairing bikes: Weight savings, adequate wind protection (including crosswind stability in my experience with the Windsplitter), RKS will endure because of the lack of tech. The fairing bikes will outlive the tech HD feels bikers want. In 5 years the TVs and comm systems will be different and yours will be close to antiquated. No such issues with the RK. $$$- Tack on an extra 5k for the fairing and all the tech crap that goes with it. Lastly, I'm the kind of guy that when the lemmings turn right, I turn left. There are plenty of RGs and SGs on the street. I don't come across newer RKs too often. I like being different which is why I don't have tattoos, I don't wear flannel (farmers and lumberjacks where flannel), I don't wear a Simpson helmet or ride in Vans and knitted church gloves with cool logos on the them. And no T-bars. Do it your way Frank.

@WARPIG BINGO!! Simplicity vs., technology comes at a price! No big ass speaker blaring; I have my sena 20 for what I need. My iPhone with quad lock is my infotainment center and a hell of a lot easier to update! Thanks, brother! P.S., I almost wore some knitted church gloves in this video, I'm glad I didn't :)

are you serious ? you might as well have picked a 883 to do multi state runs over the Pan Am . Of course the RG is the bike for that

@@whdbnrm3023 Yeah, it was Road Glides that we’re passing me all day long in the High Crosswinds all throughout Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, and Nevada. All the way there and all the way back. Often times only able to go 45 mph with DIESEL RIGS Breathing on my backside. I was getting Thrashed around so bad, that I was super exhausted each day, and it took many more hours to get where I was planning on getting, often arriving many hours late into the night at campgrounds with barely enough energy to set up and enjoy camp 🏕️🏍️. Not only that, but the bike kept going into limp mode all along the way, and I would have to exit highways and pull over to reset and clear codes. An 883 tho ? NO WAY, NOT FOR ME, but I do understand why. It would have killed my back. The Pan America was definitely a comfortable bike to ride when everything else wasn’t going horrible. I loved being able to stand up so easily and the I liked the seating position and the ability to see over cars in front of me. I was like a BILLBOARD Flying in the wind way too many times to ever do it again. They gotta bring the weight down lower somehow.

@@HELLAARTSYDUDE Out of all the bikes I have owned the road glide is by far the most stable in windy conditions ,including the Gold wings New Mexico ,Arizona can be brutal . I went through there pushing 85 and it was one non stop sidewind . A trucker let me stay by his side . I asked and he gave me the thumbs up . We were moving , very memorable ride . Love the Road Glide . Sounds like you do some serious riding . Take care and enjoy the RG . I changed to Amsoil the shifting is much smoother and no problem finding neutral

Ive had 5 in ten yrs. Never had an issue with any of them. 01 fat boy, 09 Police special, 17 Road glide, 18 Road glide special and now on a 22 CVO road glide. Do the maintenance when supposed to and you wont have problems. Take a look at 14 Road kings cvo's. 3 colors to choose from. My favorite Kings forsure.

I agree with Buck on “do the maintenance” but anything mechanical will always require some repair down the line. Some maybe more than others. In the 8 years of owned my Victory I’ve only had minimal repairs, tires etc. DID YOU LISTEN TO THOSE PIPES lol!!! She is angry and sexy all wrapped up in one! Thanks for watching!

The more you modify them the more you'll have to repair them. HD touring bikes from the factory are very reliable.Take it from a guy who has had hot bikes for 25 years. Build 'em and fix 'em. Leave them alone and they'll get you where you want to go.

No but I had other codes related to the ADH system and they ultimately replaced the info head unit due to its on internal errors. Good luck on yours hoping it’s minor!

So I didn’t include that in my video because it’s ongoing and I want to see how long it takes for the state to follow up. I started the process back in October of last year and the responses received are expect significant delays. It is not an easy process and takes a long time with uncertain results. They made me a great deal considering they were not the dealership I purchased it from. Considering I did use it and enjoyed it for a almost a year, I didn’t expect retail cost on the trade as it was used. Thanks for watching.
