Replaced My Sprinter Starter

Massive thanks! Just used these steps on my 2011 MB Sprinter 3500 RV. Got the part from AutoZone in western Ma, $200ish, it was whatever brand they had. We're about to leave on a trip so no time to be picky. Mine was a little simpler: no wire-harness bolt to remove, no zip tie to cut and replace. Total job complete in about an hour, even allowing time for hand-cramps to subside. Big ups!

Just followed your video and replaced the starter in my 2007 NCV3 2500 144". Thanks! It's been sitting for a year, and I have it back in time for spring camping!

Those stubby handle-flex joint ratchets are a pain in tight places as we can see.

These guys in the background noise are going up and down on the blower throttle and that wears out the carb lots sooner.

That is a Bosch brand starter, by the way.

Ok, UT, how many miles did you get out of your original starter and what were the symptoms of the failed starter. Was it bearings, solenoid or an electrical short in the starter?? My '06 had problems with the solenoid not working. Basic starter still good. Most starters in USA are Bosch. Valeo brand that MB uses has the two long screws on the outside of the casing and Bosch has internal. Thanks for the video. My starter solenoid began to fail at 185K miles.

Core when i open 13 bolt rip piece of selnoid off.

my pro help is what got me to this point they changed the alt put wire on wrong put it next to manifold and it burned starter out of course they don't think so I have a 10 what is yours and thanks I never even looked on bell house for bolt
