My mirror glass flew off on the highway, but the back plate is still there on my 2006 Passat. What would be the best adhesive to use if I were to just purchase the glass from an online source - I'm assuming that it is held together with adhesive, correct?

Any one know where you can order just the glass and backing? I can't find it seperate from the whole housing anywhere online.

Is there a way to re-glue or 2 sided tape the actual glass mirror to the backing or do you recommend one goes to an auto parts store and buy the whole piece you are shown attaching?
