This is a quick video on replacing a frost proof anti siphon faucet, attached to pex. I wasn't sure of the type of faucet to buy, so I recruited my buddy Daniel to help, and it was much easier than I thought. Thanks for checking out the video. I hope it was helpful!

God I love having a basement instead of a crawlspace. Nice work guys.

Learned the same lesson as you this year. Turned the water on and it sounded like air in the line and low water pressure. Turned out water was going in to our crawl space instead. 😂

Thank you for solving my problems. My husband did the same thing. But he didn’t even drain the hose.

I know a lot of people use Shark Bite connectors but I dont fully trust them. I really like the crimp connection better. Especially in a crawl space....😮

Good luck with yours! It definitely helps to have friends with experience and the right tools. It wasn’t too bad though. 👍🏻

Electrical tape over the logos. Instant LIKE. Also, 3 wraps of teflon tape is the way to go. I tried 1 wrap at the end tapering up to 2 wraps at the shoulder... LEAKED! 3 wraps did the trick!

Just now getting to the video, thanks for posting! I have a new build home where my spigot may be attached to pex with the pex crimp. Need to replace the spigot, but it's going to be tough since I am on slab and will likely cut into drywall to see the connection.

The reason you have to use a wrench to remove the hose is because of galvanic corrosion between aluminum hose end and brass spigot. Do yourself a favor and either spend the money for hoses with brass ends, or use a plastic adapter between the hose and the spigot. Learned that one the hard way myself.

Thank you for this! I made the exact same error because my hose is also in an awkward position to attach/detach, so I left it on.

Use a splitter and leave hose connected to one side and the other side open in the winter.

great video. however i would probably not use shark bites. they are easy to use yes, but you do get call backs and are alot like gambling, they tend to drip, leak, and just plain fail. so i would avoid the head ache and either weld it or use pex clamps.

Thank you for this video! Trying to fix this problem currently with my anti frost faucet, although I have all copper piping. Could you fix the faucet neck instead getting a whole new one?

My spigot turned off constantly leaks no water stains inside the house, but it leaks from every where outside.

The ppl who installed mine didn't leave any slack in the pex, any suggestions on how to add length?
@DIYWoodntYou
@DIYWoodntYou 3 месяца назад
Dang, I’m sorry to hear that! My only suggestion would be to cut a piece out, maybe to the closest joint, and replace it with a longer piece to give you some more slack in the line. 🤷🏼

Do these frost free faucets only turn about a 1/4 of a turn to go from off to full on? That's how mine works and I'm wondering if it is faulty.
@rcprod9631
@rcprod9631 11 месяцев назад
@@DIYWoodntYou We have good pressure inside but little pressure with the sprinkler outside. I am running 165 ft of hose so maybe that is resulting in the lack of pressure at the sprinkler.

Wrong color pex. You will have to take all of it out and replace it with blue.

I don't think the color matters..

LOL Too funny, red for hot, blue for cold - true dat but it works the same either way.
@shathan123
@shathan123 Год назад
This is not true. It’s for convenience/aesthetic purposes but code does not require the traditional red to hot and blue to cold. Red on a hose line is perfectly fine.
