I recently created a website for PSP parts, systems, and custom builds:
everythingpsp....
This is a video on how to remove and install a new lens on your psp faceplate. This will give a better look to your psp than if you bought a whole generic faceplate replacement. I use B-7000 glue (as cheap as $5), but you could use something similar. I’ve done this process on over a hundred of my own faceplates and have been pleased with the results.

3 glass: www.ebay.com/i...
1 glass: www.ebay.com/i...
There will soon be a glass version of this installation video that has a few different steps.

I got in the lucky window where you updated this on the day I checked it out. Nice website, I am sure I will be in contact at some point.

Hey, a question, do the replacement plastic panes look like the original? or are they of poor quality Thank you
@blakeblundell9001
@blakeblundell9001 2 года назад
The replacement lens doesn’t sit as flush at the top edge, but otherwise they look good. Sometimes there will be some spots after removing the film, but those will rub off easily with a micro fiber (or something similar). There’s glass lenses too, but you have to make sure to not apply much pressure for those. Apply glue to the inner top edge to help reinforce it

Can i ask something? I have a PSP 1000 faceplate with the clear lens. And i want to swap my PSP 1000 lens to my new PSP 3000, is it possible if i just pop the lens of the 1000 and glued it again to my 3000?? Thank You So Muchh
@blakeblundell9001
@blakeblundell9001 25 дней назад
You’d only be able to do that if your 1000 is silver/gold/camo/blue, since the other OEM colors don’t have a removable lens.

I have a psp 1000 that needs a screen lens replacement. Will this lens that’s linked in the description work?
@blakeblundell9001
@blakeblundell9001 10 месяцев назад
For 1000s, only certain colors have a removable lens. Those are: blue, silver, gold, and camo.

i wanna do this on a psp e1000 street. but cant seem to find the info of wich lens i need to buy. i know 3000 series buttons fit. any ideas ?
@blakeblundell9001
@blakeblundell9001 Год назад
Yeah these lenses will also fit a street model. I’ve don’t a few and it’s basically the same procedure except you don’t need to shave off any of the plastic faceplate frame. You’ll have a little gap in some spots due the the street having a slightly bigger lens opening, but it’s not bad at all. I’d also recommend buying a glass lens instead, since they are much higher quality than the plastic ones on the market

hi,....do you know by chance if this is working for the psp 1000 (fat) as well? heard they are together one piece with the front plate.
@blakeblundell9001
@blakeblundell9001 Год назад
The 1000 colors that don’t have a detachable lens are: black, white, and pink. So for those colors you’d just have to buy a whole faceplate.

Is it possible to dismantle it again after using the b-7000 glue? Is it maybe a better option to use double sided tape?
@blakeblundell9001
@blakeblundell9001 2 года назад
You can still remove the lens again if you warm up the faceplate. A hair dryer or hot air machine would work best, but leaving it out in the sun could also probably do the trick. Double sided tape doesn’t hold well, unless you get some of the higher end stuff

@@blakeblundell9001 Do you perhaps know what was the original method Sony used to get them on? Maybe a specific glue? I am worried about bending the shell when heating it up so I am trying to find another way that works.
@blakeblundell9001
@blakeblundell9001 2 года назад
You’d only need to heat it up if you’re trying to remove the new lens. The original lens will come off easy with no heat and just a flat head to pop it off.

Would B-7000 work with a glass lens?
@blakeblundell9001
@blakeblundell9001 2 года назад
Yeah it would work. I’ve used it on around 5 glass lenses so far, and it holds well. Apply the glue directly to the faceplate frame and then set the lens in

Yo I got a question. I just want to know is it possible to replace the trim around the psp, I have the blue one and want to keep the blue trim around my psp, is that possible or I have to replace the whole thing?

Thoughts on using clear gorilla glue?
@blakeblundell9001
@blakeblundell9001 2 года назад
It could work fine, but I’ve never used it on these. I’ve used standard super glue many years ago and the fumes ended up making a lot of marks on the lens that wouldn’t come off

@blakeblundell9001
@blakeblundell9001 Год назад
You let it sit for a few hours for the glue to harden, and then you install the faceplate onto your PSP. Then make sure to remove the protective films off the new lens before you set it down and screw it in
@sajidnawaz459
@sajidnawaz459 Год назад
What about using super glue?
@blakeblundell9001
@blakeblundell9001 Год назад
Super glue typically has more fumes that will make marks on the lens that cannot be wiped off easily
