I am looking at a paragon kiln to buy from someone but they repaired the firebrick with something that looks like globs of plaster but it is sloppy and goes into the element wells a little. I cannot tell if it touches the elements. Also I have never known a kiln lid to be so heavy that I cannot lift it; but I have never owned a paragon -- so is this normal for paragon kilns?

Looks easy....while the kiln is disassembled!!!
