Replacing boat kill/safety switch

I rebuilt a boat from scratch the harness was completely disconnected. Ive got it running but needed to add a kill switch. What color wire in the harness hooks up to the switch? Black with yellow stripe? And ground?

Gawd damn that was painful.

Could you please give me the link for that exact kill switch you got from amazon ?

Tip for next time. Just say what wires go where.

I have a sterndrive and this would not work for I think I need it open and then closed when not working

In electronics open means no connection, and closed means there is a connection. You seem to be using the terms backwards.
