Thanks for this guide, I really like these pedals. I tried the oneup alloy type as well and I much prefer the slightly smaller bearing setup of the spanks that ride closer to the crank arm
I really try to be light handed on my stuff. Having been too forceful with things in my youth, I now try to error in the side of caution where possible!...but sometimes excess force is necessary, lol!
May be I´m wrong, but the bushing end of that pedals, made of technical plastic instead of a ball bearing (Like 5050´s), shows short live, or that bushing is it better than ball bearing?...
Seems like it's a necessity for such thin pedals to use a bushing.. everyone who uses bearings for the outboard section seem to have problems, original Race Face Atlas is a known bad design finally changed this year, One Up's aluminum pedal has a bushing rebuild kit (originally bearings still available but bushings recommended).. I haven't heard about any Shimano issues but they just moved to bushings for the XT pedals, the Kona Wah Wah ii composite still has bearings but they use a bushing on the aluminum version for some reason. It just seems like the tiny RC car bearings aren't holding up very well, more than a cost cutting change given the known failures.
