been having trouble getting my 95 vortec tbi to start when its hot and someone said it might be this sensor but I had no clue where it was or how to do it, so thanks for the info.
I want to say I got rid of it and just used a air cleaner spacer to replace it. Spectre - SPE-4954 Performance 4954 Air Cleaner Riser Kit a.co/d/28wgOBX
Even after replacing my CTS it wasnt working right and the ECM was reading high temps making it go into limp mode when warm. Zero power and timing really low. Unplugged my CTS.. plugged a paperclip into the pigtail connctor and no more issues. Will be finding the right resistor value to trick it into thinking its running at a warmer temp but not too warm. I have chased this issue 1 whole year. Stupid wiring short or something somewhere I suppose.
So glad you commented this. Mine is actually doing this. I did end of replacing the sensor but I'm wondering if I screwed it in far enough but that limp mode is definitely how mine is reacting. It's being held back
I have a problem with the car, when the temperature becomes moderate, then you step on the fuel, it cuts off and turns off, and if you turn it off and then turn it on, it returns to normal until you press half of the pedal, if you step on the entire pedal while it has not heated up, it responds well (tbi 350)89 van gmc
You may try and heat up the area around the sensor and the sensors itself with a heat gun or something similar. Hopefullly that will break up some of the corrosion on the threads and you’ll be able to get it out.
@@3rdGenC10s oh man I hope so..im use to mechanic work but so scared its gonna break..I was putting a little bit of ass behind it and was like ya idk man lol
@@3rdGenC10s Thanks for that confirmation! Sweet looking truck. How is your amp mounted to the back wall? using the same method as the firer extinguisher?
I wouldnt think the CTS would have any effect on weather or not the fuel pump would kick on. I did have a issue when I first replaced my passenger tank and pump where after about 20 minutes of driving on that tank when it was warm out it would kill the pump, I replaced the selector valve for dual tanks when it developed a leak and haven’t had the issue since. No sure it’s related but that’s what fixed my issue.
I have a 93 corvette it has a code for a coolant temp sensor and it runs rich when it gets hot blows black smoke and stalls and doesn’t run again for a few minutes but I don’t thing my gage is reading wrong you think that is most likely the issue even tho the gage doesn’t seem off
The gauge is on a separate sender, it should be on the driver side cylinder head. The CTS should be on top of the intake near the thermostat housing, it tells the engine how much fuel, replace CTS and disconnect negative side of battery for 30 seconds.
