Replacing the Driver's Door Lock Module in a Mk4 GTi is not as hard as everyone makes it out to be. However, it is time consuming at most! I got my module from UroTuning.com, below is the part I purchased!

I had to replace the door lock model on my mk4 golf gti front passenger side. Everything went fine, but the metal rod whicn attaches to the door module came off. I attached it back, but when I screwed the module back the door, the pin is at a 45 degree angle and not straight up, so I can't get the door card back on. I have literally tried every combination but it dosent go back on.. Any suggestions would be appreciated man.

What hold the door pin rod onto the lock mechanism? Please help!!! Do I have to take the hole lock mechanism out to hook the door pin lock rod on? Thank you

I’m having the same leaking issue on the tub behind the drivers seat but the seals look fine so I don’t know what it can be

No it is specific to the one side. At least from what I can tell

MK6Guy damn I just replaced my passenger door and my driver side door lock module doesn’t lock when I press lock on the remote but it’ll unlock. It will also lock like once in a blue as well. I thought since I replaced my passenger door I could just put that lock module on the driver side.

Sounds like the drivers module is going bad. They aren’t universal unfortunately.

@@MK6Guy my dome lights work when they want too. Fuel pump doesn't always prime when I open the door. Is this the cause I assume

If the dome lights are working intermittently, it could be a bad connection or wiring. The door lock module “may” be the cause of the light. If its bad, it would tell the light to stay on IF you have it set to the “door open” part of the switch. As far as the fuel pump not priming, sounds like either a ground issue or pump going bad.

I’d try changing the door lock module first to see if that helps. Its $49.99 on UroTuning
