Killed it with the N64 Golden Eye death scene reference. This is a cool mod and a great diy video. Just ordered 4 NOS monsoon speakers to do this mod and was thinking I’d order four more to do the doors. Anyone tried these speakers in E38 doors? Fyi: there is a seller on eBay with about 240 sales of these nos monsoon speakers - $15 each. eBay Seller ID is “replacementradios”

Great video too by the way.... Is there a difference in the "G" and "E" speakers? Do they all have to come from the back doors or can you use the two from the front doors? I found a set of 4 all from the same car for 70 bucks and didn't know if I can use both the 1CO 035 411 E and the 1CO 035 411 G.. thank you

Not totally sure on the differences between those, we got our technical info from this site e38.weebly.com/speakers.html I didn’t see him mentioning a difference between the two. Good luck and glad you liked the video!

Quick question, I'm replacing my speakers too on the same car they're straight ass. isn't it possible to just pop the cover at the rear deck and replace the speakers right there instead of taking everything out or am I under thinking this.

I wanted to do something similar but there is a lot less room to work with the rear glass there than I thought, especially if you need to modify the box to fit the monsoon speakers. If you are swapping with OEM it may be possible. Pulling the whole box took a lot less time than I thought and was worth it for the access.

DIYauto Unfortunately the entire head unit fried up after the battery died and I can’t get it to work. Any recommendations for after market head units?

Can anyone please share this Monsoon speaker magnet diameter? I plan to fit speaker with 91mm magnet and wonder if I will be able to enlarge hole in speaker deck to this size. Original speakers have 73mm diameter magnet.
