I honestly hope that in the future combination ISO/"EXIT" exit signs become standard, as they're technically the best of both worlds (also the word "EXIT" in the country's main language & maybe even red *_&_* green somehow as bonuses).
In the UK during the transition from EXIT to running man, (during the 90s or so) there are a few emergency lights out there with the running man and the words FIRE EXIT. However they're not modern and risk being replaced due to them not being able to hold the minimum 3hr runtime,
4k subs! Good job. You deserve it. Also great installation video. There are not a lot of good install vids for running man signs and this one is by far the best Ive seen. Keep up the good work.
I live in the US and the Running Man exit signs are so much better. I really hope we mandate them like Canada. Safety appliances should be able to be understood no matter what the native language is. Great video, by the way! I've been binge watching your videos since yesterday lol
I like them too I wonder when and if the US will ever adopt the ISO sign I believe most countries have or maybe there could be a cross of the two like having a red running man sign/iso sign?
Running man is my personal favourite.. I plan to install a couple of exit boxes (fluorescent based because they're cheaper) in my bedroom or workshop depends on what I'm going to do
They definitely are a different look I still wonder if the US will adopt the ISO sign like pretty much the rest of the world has or if there could be some sort of crossbreed where you had a red running man sign/ISO sign
I personally like Exit signs more. Its just what Im used to seeing. It appears Canada requires ISO exit signs but I understand ISO exit signs are international.
I am the opposite not really about the look of the signs but as ISO signs have been required since I believe 2010 when I see red exit signs it sort of give us a building and outdated look like it hasn’t been modernized or renovated recently don’t know how to explain it and I’m sure it’s not like that in the US were brand new buildings have exit signs
They both get the job done. I’m not sure non English speaking people are stumped when they see an “EXIT” sign. But there isn’t anything wrong with consistency I guess.
As much as you might want to say your exit signs and fire alarm panels are “life safety” they arnt for your case. You need to kill power. I’ve been an electrician longer than you’ve been alive and saw my grandkids watching this. It’s very dangerous and I don’t even work on live equipment unless absolutely necessary. Linemen will even tell you they kill power every chance they get. We have protocol to wear proper PPE (rubber gloves, arc flash shield, etc) This is some dangerous stuff man. Don’t cut your knowledge short. You’ll be a great electrician some day but doing this you might not live to see it. Best wishes.
Completely depends for me on the situation if I’m going to do it live or not some of the guys I work with won’t touch anything live but most of the older guys don’t care and will do some stuff live if it’s not 347/600
@@master_electrician3312 All depends on circumstances i’m sure it’s possible but I’ve never heard of the resistance of your skin being so low to pass 12v through it as long as you’re not touching something else at a different potential you’re fine during this video I never made contact with the 120v but if I had I would’ve been fine as I wasn’t touching anything else. I’ve been told to not ever play with 347v live there for I’ve never felt more than 120v other than 1000 V with a Megger just for fun whenever I work whether it’s live or dead I never place myself in a way that if I’m shocked it’s gonna go through me.
@@josephcarson8382 more than just Canada almost every country except United States and there are some states in the US that have adopted the ISO standard not many though maybe more eventually not to sure
@@nics-systems-electric yeah, hopefully, green exit signs can remain so long as accompanied by an ISO unit (I'd imagine a remote capable lettered unit, with an AC-only ISO sign tethering off of it
Makes no sense as to why this was done. The excuse “it’s not right in the sense that it’s not a running man exit sign” doesn’t really work because the EXIT sign wouldn’t have been installed if it wasn’t in code.
Shame, I always feel the simple text looks much more adult and professional. But I guess it's the same with he walk/don't walk crossign signals, they've been dumbed down to little action figures now.
I don’t like the running man, it makes the place seem more scary by a man hurrying. Honestly, the regular ones are better, there simple, affordable, and get the job done. And the running man is just too overpowering and the regular, we see them all the time so we’re used to it, but if there is an actual emergency, it’s just fine the way it’s. Edit: The running man one is fine for cruise ships, but not regular buildings.
@@bluewaveproductions4017 they may become at some point as they are in general a better style I do like exit signs that say exit because it’s cool but you have to understand that if someone that can’t read or doesn’t understand that language than they are not affective
