This video shows you how I Replace the Front Lower Control Arm with Ball Joint on a 2010 Chevy Equinox. This took way longer than expected since i didn't have the correct tools to start out with and did not have the aid of a hydraulic lift. This will apply all years 2010-2016.

That's awesome that your doing that with your kids. I was doing outer tire rods with my youngest today.

Awesome, I think it's important to teach them what we know and how to do things for themselves. Children never forget time well spent witg parents.

@@AUTARKYDESIGNS I totally agree. It's nice to stop and think that these moments are important and that the kids will remember these moments and they become memories. I'm doing the same job you did tomorrow. I'm going to go to harbor freight for that tire rod/ball joint remover tool too. Thx for the video.

Thanks for the video. My control arm bushings are shot on my 2011 equinox and i have to change them. If you’re not reusing the ball joint you can hit upwards on it with a hammer to release the taper instead of using a pickle fork.

I attempted this job about 3 weeks ago. Omg.. It looks very easy before starting. Now mind you, I’m not a mechanic and don’t have a garage. It was my first time attempting this type of job. I needed to replace my ball joints on both sides. So.. I attempted to drill out the rivets!! Not successful at all. I was in the rain, wind and the temperature was chilly which made the job way more challenging. I was laying on my back with the car jacked up trying to drill these rivets out for hours. I eventually gave up. I even took the control arm out and tried drilling again. No success. I just brought the whole control arm with the ball joint on it. Anyone attempting this job, be mindful before you start, it won’t be a walk in the park if your outside with no garage in bad weather.
