The cemetery is very fortunate to have Lars as an employee. He is a hard worker and so natural in the videos. His former kindergarten teacher skills show through with his love of plants and wanting to share his knowledge of gardening with anyone who is interested. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for watching! He's so happy working there... while he loved being a teacher, this change is very very welcome.

Lars this is such an important job. I know that if I was coming to visit a loved one, seeing the beautiful flowers would definitely soften the blow. Nature is good for healing the soul!

It is! And you're right... the way they treat cemeteries as public parks -- people riding by on skateboards, having coffee on the benches, walking to the train station... it makes the place feel loved and not forgotten. A great way of doing here in Denmark.

Would you be able to do a video on plants that are good at covering spent foliage/flowers that otherwise would look "ugly" whilst dying? I have just come across your videos, I am learning a lot, so thanks 😊!

Good morning You have helpers i hope to manage the cemetery garden? I understand how you have planted by the beds. We all work with what we have and changes are made merely through evolvement. A garden does take time even if you buy fully mature plants. Happy Sunday to you and your family 💯🍰🍰🍰

Thank you so much for watching. We are a team of 4 at this garden - wouldn’t be possible without everyone helping. We have over 4km of hedge to clip, grass to cut and flower beds and cemetery plots to maintain - it’s a busy, wonderful job 😀

Dear Alen and Lars I guess you have such an intensive planting scheme at your home garden and you love to try new colors and varieties, that makes your garden so colorful, and so special However, repetitions and strong bold groupings are "really" an element that brings calmness and relaxation to the eye and to the mind. I mean to say. If you can create repetition and you have the space, do it ❤🌷🌷🌷🐛🌷🌷🌷🐛 ❤🌷🌷🌷🐛 Mm

You're so right -- these blocks of color are great for places like this garden. They really do provide calm and a sense of respect for those visiting.

What a beautiful place i have never seen a cemetery look like that. Is this the exception or the norm for Denmark? It is always refreshing to see your videos, especially now. We are forecast 96 degrees F , here in northwest Georgia (US) today and next week..
@perennial-garden
@perennial-garden 3 месяца назад
Where in Georgia? (If you don't mind saying.) I'm (Allen) from South Georgia... down near Waycross :) ...so I know the heat you're talking about. As for the cemetery here, that's the norm. They are all treated with such respect -- and many (like this one) double as public parks where people can bike thru, take a coffee break on the benches, etc -- others are attached to a church, but they all still have the same 'style' with flower beds, benches, paths, etc. They make them real places to celebrate life and memory together.

In case you don’t make it to Denmark. I live in Mass (US) & there’s a cemetery in Boston (Forest Hills cemetery, Jamaica Plain) that is a stunning garden cemetery. The gardens, statues, ponds and the natural setting are amazing. My Nana’s buried there & I always find it calming to go there.

Thank you for this mini-tour and for explaining the names of each plant ~ I intermittenly googled them as I watched the video to learn more about them 🚀 ... Love the salvia (3:38) and the giant scabiosa (4:02) ~ These two really make a distinct statement in the flower bed 💚
