Perfect video thanks! I have fujitsu e736 notebook. It was working fine. A day, i pushed to power button. Nothing happen, no fan, no screen. Only 3 lambs beeping periodically together. I removed ram, battery so on. Still same problem. Someone says motherboard dead. Do you have another idea?

At the approximate 1 minute mark, just after you remove the keyboard, there's an "L" shaped ribbon/flex cable; what does that go to?🤔 Thanks. Also does the copper heat bar go over the GPU? It looks like it only goes over the CPU

thanks for the excellent tutorial. I would like to ask a question: the dust cover is simply a piece of perforated removable plastic or must it also have a paper filter? thank you!
@3minutestutorial
@3minutestutorial 4 года назад
M... I also got the same question indeed 🙈😂 I hope some netizen can help. But it is just a removable plastic without a paper filter when I bought from the store by default. From time to time, the bottom of the plastic got a little bit dust. And compare to other laptop, they usually do not have that plastic in the ventilation. I suspect it maybe used for connecting some extra proprietary ventilation system in addition to the fan in the laptop. But I’m really not sure the actual use of that plastic. Sorry I can’t get you a solid answer on this 🙏🏼

Thanks for the Video! it is looking great. What is nto clear to me is how to open the latch at ~ 1:19. I cannot see it clear in the video? How is the mechnism? Can you describe it a bit? Do you need it to open to the top?
@3minutestutorial
@3minutestutorial 4 года назад
It's a cable attaching from the motherboard to the power switch and some other buttons and indicators on the panel. You have to open the buckle, then pull out the cable from the buckle. Both the buckle and the cable are fragile, so be aware when open them. But the buckle is similar to the machainsm as the keybaord cable in this video, just a little bit smaller and fargile. Sorry that my English is not so good. I hope you understand my explaination. Let me know if you have more questions :) And thanks for the support.

Did you ever try to upgrade the CPU? The CPU seems to be socketed not soldered. I’ve got a similar model and I‘m considering to upgrade from its Core i5 Dual Core to a Core i7 Quad Core.
@3minutestutorial
@3minutestutorial 4 года назад
Hello Gernot! I am not sure if you have replaced your CPU before. Generally speaking, like in this video, there is a black circle-like switch on the white plastic CPU socket. When you turn the switch by a screw driver or a coin, the CPU lock will be released and you can take the CPU out. There maybe also a rod or buckle in other models, but more often appears on desktop computers instead. You may want to have a look in my Cantonese Channel for replacing the CPU on another computer. It has the same CPU socket locking as in this model. At around 5:25 you can see how to unlock it. I hope it helps :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MnbB7jpcVBQ.html

Hello, on your laptop, can the CPU be upgraded? It looks like it can! Thanks Also even tho you filmed this in high speed, when you removed the HDD, was there a plastic cover on the drive? Got ahold of a E754, no RAM, no HDD, no keyboard, & want to rebuild it. Thanks
@3minutestutorial
@3minutestutorial 3 года назад
Hello. Thanks for your questions. 1. Yes you may upgrade your CPU, but do check the compatibility that only part of the CPU works. Also, the small fan may not be sufficient to cool down the CPU if you chose some powerful one in the same generation. 2. There is a plastic cover on the drive to amount the HDD securely inside the slot. There will be some gap if the plastic cover is gone. 3. Good luck for your rebuild :)

@3minutestutorial 4 года назад
Hello @jahled You may want to take out the button battery to force reset. Or just get into the BIOS and reset to factory default. Former option give a better force reset. I don’t suggest replacing the hardware unless you’re experienced technician.

Thank you for this video, I like to do the same, but I have difficulties with two of the screws, the two screws, that are were the DVD player is. I can`t get this little screws out, because of this, I can`t reach the processor. I have a lot of tiny screwdrivers, but they can`t move the screws. Have you a tip for me, how to solve this problem?

Thank you for your question. I guess it’s hard to solve the stuck screws. You may need some special anti-screwing screw to unscrew those screws.

Is the cooler master thermal paste a good one? Thanks, also can the CPU be upgraded? Have the same laptop but need to rebuild it
@3minutestutorial
@3minutestutorial 2 года назад
Yes. Cooler master is a good one. The CPU can be upgraded but you have to check which ones are compatible. You should consider the socket, generation, and also if the BIOS support the CPU. If you are replacing the CPU with a higher power one, it often comes with more heat release that require a stronger cooler, that the original one may not be sufficient to draw the excessive heat. So don’t go too aggressive on the choice.

Hello, how to disconnect the display cable at 2:20? Do I have to pull up the 2 black plastic stuff at each extremity's? are they latches??
@3minutestutorial
@3minutestutorial Год назад
The latches design varies between models. In general you should loosen the lock and pull the connector upwards gently. Use a plastic tool to leverage from the side of the connector after removing the lock if it’s too hard to disconnect.

What's the use in replacing thermal compound? Did you do it because you had too much time?
@3minutestutorial
@3minutestutorial 4 года назад
@VixNoelopan thanks for your question. Thermal compound is a media inbetween the CPU and the heat sink so as to effectively transfer the heat from the CPU. The function of the thermal compound depricates when it dried out when it's getting old, or it was not properly placed when manfucture. Indeed, The thermal compound shd remain as less as it can that just able to provide effective heat conduction. Too much of it will cause poor performance in transfering the heat. As I used this computer for a long time, the thermal compound dried out which made my computer so hot. I tried to increase the fan speed but it's quite noisy and wasted more power. Also, usually the factory wish to make the production fast and cheap so their thermal paste may not be properly placed, or the heat conductivity is not that high compare to the one avaialbe on the market, as in my case. So I replaced the thermal compound. Of course there are a lot of other factors that affecting the temperature of the computer, such as dust, fan, the design of the flow of air, fan speed etc. Replacing the thermal compound is one of the options. And it helps to reduce the temperautre in my case for nearly 10C, but in other cases, it may not be that effective. I hope my comments helps :)

This trend of no useful commentary is only made worse by not saying there is anything but music, so it can be muted. Otherwise, nobody knows if at some point something useful is said and the music muted.
@3minutestutorial
@3minutestutorial 3 года назад
I agree with you. I will make a video with narration in the later time. Indeed by the time I made this video, I also noticed there is a trend of just putting background music while doing the repairing, so I follow the trending. Later on in my channel I made another video with narration when I get a better microphone, which provides more information towards the viewers and have better feedback. I believe there is such a trend because there seems to be an asummption that those who are willing to repair the notebook do have certain understanding on how to repair them, what they really need is to know is some of the tricky places that will faciliate their repairing in a smoother way. Of course, a narration will definitely catering viewers with different level of understanding towards computer. Thank you for your comments and advices :)

@@3minutestutorial Don't get me wrong. I make a LOT of repair videos under other names. This one is my business, and I haven't done as many as I really should. I say this, because I know it takes time to volunteer to show others things. People demand video perfection from me, and when you look, they have 0 videos! You don't get to tell people how to raise their children if you have never done it, just like you cannot complain about the government unless you voted. We should all be thankful that everyone is not greedy, demanding money to see anything. Volunteering to educate is a very special kind of giving, where there is no way a viewer will do you a favor in return. You might call it 'selfless'. But the trends are a pain. If a video doesn't say "[Music Only - No Commentary]", the viewer does't know. I want to throw my machine out the window when I hear the video go lower, and the author commenting on something important. Will they do it again? Do I dare turn the volume down? Will I miss something? So again, I think it's fine to do just audio, trend or not, but letting a viewer know they won't miss any vital commentary is considerate. I don't do any music videos, but this might also apply to those who put text on the screen instead of explanations. Keep making videos, and you will never make everyone happy! :)
