This was me at 64x speed doing the following:
1) Remove old wooden shed inc breaking down so it fits into a 4 yard skip with a load of other waste (approx 4h on and off)
2) Prep ground and lay plastic base (approx 2h on and off)
3) Build new Keter Factor 8x11 Plastic Shed. (approx 4h on and off)
Enjoy!.

Great video. I have just started assembling this shed and have the exact same issues with some of the floor screws not 'biting' into the plastic. It seems like there are frequent quality issues on all these plastic/resin sheds. Doesn't matter what brand. As there are supply chain issues for getting replacement pieces; I am going to run a bead of epoxy glue down on the mating floor pieces, fill the screw holes with epoxy, add the screws and press on. Hopefully, this will secure the floor together.

How much gravel was used? Can you tell me what size of gravel and how much please. Also did you secure the shed to the base? Many thanks

Hi, it is very stable, and heavy, we have had some strong winds recently, and it's not moved, all the main parts are well bolted together so they are not coming apart. The finished shed weights approx 180kg. (It came in 3 boxes, these are the weights including the packaging: Box 1: 48.5kg,, Box 2: 68kg & Box 3: 79.5kg) Google translate to spanish (Sorry if there are mistakes) Traductor de Google al español (perdón si hay errores): Hola, es muy estable y fuerte, hemos tenido algunos vientos fuertes recientemente y no se ha movido, todas las partes principales están bien atornilladas para que no se deshagan. El cobertizo terminado pesa aproximadamente 180 kg. (Viene en 3 cajas, estos son los pesos, incluido el embalaje: Caja 1: 48,5 kg, Caja 2:68 kg y Caja 3: 79,5 kg)

Kudos for the Video! Apologies for butting in, I would love your thoughts. Have you ever tried - Mahorrla Wooden Paradise Method (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is an awesome one of a kind product for building better sheds and woodworking without the hard work. Ive heard some super things about it and my friend finally got great results with it.

I'm getting one so your video is going to help me immensely 👍thanks sir....you are a gentleman 😁..... where did you get the plastic base from ?.... I've been looking for it but can't find anything that's slightly bigger to set the shed on 🥺....if you could pass on your wisdom I would very much appreciate it 🙏👍

Mine was just off ebay, I only went with the one I did because of the price of it was reasonable at the time, but just search for GARDEN SHED BASE KIT or Plastic grid, you may need to cut some down to make it fit. Just look at the sizes available and do some calculations to see how many you need, etc. Make sure to start at the front and work back so any cuts are hidden/less noticeable.

Can it be built butt up to the fences or do you need space all around?
@llaadd

Sorry not been on this for a long time! It can be up against the fence but ideally needs to be built away to get the roof panels in then move to the final position.

Hi there thanks for the video. Do you get condensation in winter? I've heard these a pretty bad for it. Cheers

I think I have noticed some condensation on the outside when it's very cold but its not effected me for what I store inside, I will look at this winter and try add an update comment.

I would have fixed up the old shed. It seemed to have been built quite well.
@llaadd
@llaadd Год назад
It was not fit for purpose unfortunately, the wood was mostly rotten and in my view not very well assembled. I also wanted something low/zero maintenance.

What did you use to fix the shed onto the ground?
@llaadd
@llaadd 3 года назад
Hi, I have not used anything, it is just sitting on top on the plastic grid base. There are holes in the shed floor which you can use to secure it to the ground if you want, but it weighs approx 180KG without anything inside so I don't think it will go anywhere unless you have very band winds)

1. Is it still intact? 2. Does it suffer from condensation and 3. does it come with all the base parts?? thanks
@llaadd
@llaadd Год назад
1) yes still good, only issue I have is with the sliding lock at the top and bottom of the left side door, its not the best at staying screwed into the inside of the door, but I rarely open that side so usually not an issue. I think I replaced the screws for these locks but I did a while back so can't remember exactly what I did. 2) I think I have noticed some condensation on the outside when it's very cold but its not effected me for what I store inside, I will look at this winter and try add an update comment. 3) The floor come with it, not the mesh base I put down which I filled with the stones, that I got off eBay, not particular seller, loads of options on there and other sites. But you can also put this on slabs, etc. Just needs to be flat and level.

Good video! How are you finding the shed in terms of quality and structure. I am looking to replace my 8x12 timber shed and came across the Keter Factor, would be good to hear your thoughts on pros & cons?
@llaadd
@llaadd 3 года назад
It's generally good, no real issues using it, I've seen some birds make a mess on it but after a rain, it all came off, so glad its low maintenance. On the cons side, I was struggling to find extra shelves etc for it and when putting together some screws don't seem to hold very well/don't grip, particularly for the floor, although it's not been a major issue. The structural ones went in ok, just make sure to put in carefully. I would recommend that if you use the plastic base, you try keep the gravel all below the level of the base so it is easier to move if you need to.

What stops it from lifting up and/or around in the wind?? since there is no ground connection

@Land967
@Land967 2 года назад
@@melsagelord3991 oh nope, see shortly after asking that question I bought one, built it. Was great for 2 months then the UK got battered with unusually high levels of wind. I even had 20-30 flagstones stored inside it. Wind ripped it all to pieces after 2 days, with exception to the floor since I had the flagstones on it.
@llaadd
@llaadd Год назад
Sorry to hear what happened to yours @Land967, I've never had any issues since I have had it, mine is only held down by the weight of the things inside it as Mel suggested. There are anchor points inside but these again only hold the floor down, the floor should then hold the rest down.
@melsagelord3991
@melsagelord3991 2 года назад
So is there any way to fix to the base? Or best just to hope no high winds occcur😆
@melsagelord3991
@melsagelord3991 2 года назад
I forgot to add, mine is directly onto patio/slabs.
@llaadd
@llaadd Год назад
There are fixing holes so you can position the base, mark the hole locations on the ground and, drill though and use some sort of anchor bolt (I.e.concrete expansion or wedge-bolt) to secure it down. Mine is just held down by the weight of the stuff inside it, not had any issues in the 2 years I've had it installed.
@RobertAgarHutton

Great video, thanks. What did you use as the 'sub base' the one you poured the gravel into?
@llaadd
@llaadd 3 года назад
Hi, it was just on earth/soil, I did compact some bits off camera which were bit soft so the ground was mostly level and hard. Than i put waterproof membrane, than gravel (as I needed it a bit higher), than plastic base filled with 20mm sharp gravel.
@RobertAgarHutton
@RobertAgarHutton 3 года назад
@@llaadd so that base is part of the shed kit?
@llaadd
@llaadd 3 года назад
@@RobertAgarHutton no that I bought separate. If you are building on slabs that are level, you should be able to build straight on it, if you are building on earth or grass, you need a base, either like the plastic base I used filled with gravel, or you need to put down slabs/block paving or pour a concrete base. The shed does have a floor which the side panels bolt into, but you need solid and level ground. Before you start. Final note, make the the base is bigger then the shed, I recommend 6 inches to 12 inches in each direction.
@llaadd
@llaadd 3 года назад
P.s. search for plastic base, there are many out there and make sure you check what size gravel you need as different ones need different sizes of gravel.

Yes but I would probably recommend things like that in an insulated shed/building so you could use year round. Also I personalle wouldn't put anything too valuable inside as a determined criminal would be able to get into it.
