I replaced a 64gb card with a 128gb card following your instructions and it worked flawlessly. I just had to make sure the correct allocation size was chosen because I tried with a low allocation size and the system didn’t show my icons but when I changed it to the default one it worked perfectly. Thank you!!!

Tried this method with a 400gb sd card and a stopwatch. the default allocation size took 24.72 sec to boot up and DID NOT have my theme. Switching over to the max allocation brought the boot to 15.87 sec and I COULD see my set theme.

Worked like a charm. Thank you very much! I was concerned because I tried to do it myself using Rufus instead of GUIformat and, for some reason (maybe a mistake on my part) the 3DS would not show up the software installed on my previous SD card. After following the guide, it's all good once again.

Thank you! I've been wondering why my theme didn't display anymore after I upgraded (micro SD 256GB - New 3DS) An easy fix I found is to press POWER then HOME, the unloaded theme should display now! Though I discovered something, there's actually an advantage for not having the theme display right away. If you install a bad/corrupted custom theme that freezes your console, you can fix it before fully loading your theme by using Anemone again.

When booting the DS it says it cannot read the SD card. I followed everything step by step ):

if you don't believe the guide trust me it works. i put mods on the stock 4 gb sd card followed these steps and i still have my mods along with my games. went from 4gb to 64 gbs

For SD cards that are really cheap, the best thing for me is to give them the maximum size allocation.

Do this to your micro sd cards for your R4 with DS/GBA/moonshell/etc and it will work fine too. Though in this day and generation a normal original Samsung Galaxy S1 to Samsun Galaxy S4 or any basic tablet with the essentials could do much better than the moonshell, although it is still a nice thing to have anyways. Though putting the R4 with an SD card with much higher space and data might sometimes lag or freeze in some games, only on the DSlite, not sure about the OriginalDS or DSi and variants, but it doesn't lag or have issues on the NN3DSXL, I am no tech and know so little tech sofware wise, so I do not know how and why this is the way it is. But hell, Sthetix, you sure sure how to unfuck our lack common sense and set us up straight. Thank you for being cool and showing us this stuff

I like your other guides, but the condescending tone on this one makes it hard to watch. Specially since just copying everything with the right format isn't really working.... POST-EDIT: I managed to make it work creating an image of the old card (using imageusb freeware software) and then burning it with rufus. Then extending the partition with Mini Partition Tool to get the whole SD card (64Gb in my case). The method shown in this video didn't work to me, and no the format wasn't wrong, there's nothing wrong with my reader, and both cards were SanDisk.

hai, for extra knowledge - just make sure the SD card partition style set - MBR just notice the mine newly sd card has been set under GPT partition style, hiashhh😅😅

Confirmed new sd card is working (tried from switch). Reformatted to Fat32 and really followed your guide. Even tried formatting from godmode9 and then copied the files from old sd card. But it doesnt work. Any thoughts?

This guide workt perfectly for me. I now have over 460 000 blocks instead of 400.

Is there a Mac equilavent to guiformat? Or can I use Disk Utility? Edit: after further inspection, yes, you can use Disk Utility to format your 64+ GB SD card to FAT32. Disk Utility comes with your Mac btw.

I came back to this video after trying to run the Emerald injected VC and switching the cluster size to 64kb fixed my issue (found the solution in a forum) So I guess the 64kb cluster isn’t useless 🤷‍♂️ Edit: Everything seems to run a lot faster too and I have no issue loading themes or DS games that are forwarded.

This video might be my saving grace, my 3DS takes a whole minute to boot after installing CFW, and 3 minutes to boot into TwilightMenu++. I used a 128 GB card and had trouble formatting it. Now I know I can safely pull my files from it, reformat it, and make sure I fix my allocations and see how it does! Thank you!

I'm watching this vid because I got a 128 gb for Christmas for my 3ds and I use my school Chromebook because my PC doesn't have a SD card slot and I put the sd card in ready to do the steps but than I saw it allowed me to delete everything on it and reformat it to 1 of 3 things excluding fat 32 so that's cool I'll test it

Bro there is one problem which can happen to all consoles even non hacked ones: Virtual console games like gba games being shown like a little cut off like the screen is shifted i heard that for 128gb card you can fix this by selecting the allocation unit size from 32kb to 64(this fix supposedly works for 128gb i dont know for other size sd cards) Now my question XD: is it save to change the allocation unit ? will changing the allocation unit make games i have installed before potentionally unplayable ? Dont know if you will see this but its worth a try XDDD

If your formatting program isnt working, just use the one he uses, save the headache.
