Keep the wheel close to the ground as possible. You may have to lift the bike or lower it onto the wheel to allow the weight to be relieved off the lower bolts. Do one side at a time.
Rod, I have aftermarket D&D slip ons that look almost identical to stock, how do the slip ons come off in order to access the lower bolt on the exhaust side?
Rod, I should have clarified, it's "YARVIS" from 1130cc.com. I have an issue with the replacement bolt ever so slightly rubbing on my mufflers after we had to drill out the OEM stripped lower shock bolt after replacing the OEM shocks for some YSS Racing shocks. I should be doing this repair in a couple of days at a friends house. He has a lift and a scissor jack, should the rear tire be all the way up in the air or not?
