Do you know if I can find online the appropriate gear for my Singer Starlet 495? It is a very old model and the local shop doesn't have it on its records to order the appropriate part. Hi, obviously I'm no sewing machine repair expert, I got my parts off EBAY for anyone who was wondering, the description was "4x Gear 163997 103363 Feed Drive Shaft Set Fit for Singer 1492 2001 2005 2010" and the seller was "mitou1" out of China. Thanks for sharing, I've just picked up a Singer 437 with broken drive gears, similar set-up to your machine but different things need removed to slide out the shaft that is driven by the belt. Just a quick question, when you replaced the 2 bevel gears did you need to reset them to correct the bobbin hook/needle synchronisation?
